He's just shit-talking and being hypocritical. The insinuation behind the song No More Candy 4 U is that he won't give people music to criticize and bitch about, but I'll be damned if we didn't end up with "Purple and Gold", "Cause and Effect", and "Hot Summer" anyway.

ok. the lyrics have me really confused, maybe that's why.

also the part where he says 'no more candy for the people who say life imitates music'

cuz i remember him once saying 'art creates society' or something like that.

apart from that, the whole 'no more candy 4 u' slogan reminds me of those guys who hang around pre-schools offering candy to little children, to go for a ride in his car..

at least Prince re-considered his career path lol

i love it's got old skool vibe plus i love when he goes all obnoxious & challenges fans with a bit of old fashioned fuck u hatred

his vocals are amazing on this track, real dirty & gangsta

the live version, was it the french canal gig? where it went all reggae, that was really cool

I saw this performed three times (he restarted the song 3 times because he didn't like the sound) at Last Jam at Paisley Park last October. I have a whole new appreciation for it. It rocks harder live.

Prince once told Matt Lauer he didn't pay attention to whether or not prefab music acts paid dues. Guess he changed his tune in 4 years.

I LOVE this song. It has great energy on it and it's just a fun rocking song. I usually put this on repeat when it comes on.
