Alphabet St (this is not music, this is a trip)

Does anyone have the story on this version of the song? It blew me away when I finally heard it? Was it planned for release, how did it come about? Thanks!!!

Also - any info on the scratchy-voiced version of irresistable bitch?

I don't think there's any story behind it, it's basically an instrumental of the original version, with some guitar overdubs at the end.

It's funny to think that Prince has all this great unreleased stuff hanging around and thought "Should I put 'Cosmic Day' as the b-side? Nahhhhhhhhh, an instrumental would be MUCH better!"

The original "Irresistible Bitch" was recorded back-to-back with "Feel U Up" in 1981. I'm not sure if it was intended for anything... I think a whole album of that voice would get annoying smile

I still don't know which one you're talking about.

There are both released and unreleased versions of this track.

This Is Not Music, This Is a Trip is more or less what they used to call the "Dub Mix" back in the late 80's / early 90's biggrin
