Very cool! I just read on Esperanza Spalding's blog that she'll be taking part in a Prince tribute. But Alicia, Janelle, Patti, and Chaka is cooler. Nice to see credible, talented artists paying homage to my hero and not one of these shitty-ass rappers or pop tarts.

ditto on Alicia keys , i was really into her on her first album but after awhile i started to notice she wasn't that great of a piano player and her voice is meh

That's so cool. You know the BET audience will show him even more love at that tribute. Looking forward to watching the program tonight. I hope he does perform. It will be awesome if he does. The Red Carpet show starts at 6pm on the East Coast, and the actual show begins at 8pm. Have a blast!

So if P didn't show up for rehearsals as stated earlier, does this mean he def will not perform? I don't see how he can just walk up and perform with no rehearsal. Being the perfectionist he is and all. I dunno. Still gonna watch but I'm really hoping for a performance.

Some rehearsals are done off-site so that doesn't mean he's not. I don't know for sure though. The Michael Jackson tribute was being rehearsed in the basement so no one could spoil the surprise. Now if they do that right, like they are rehearsing it, that's gonna be dope too!
