Days of Wild video?? I was curious why Prince never released a video for Days of Wild... I mean, the song itself has been recorded/released many times - I can count 5. (1994 studio, VH1 broadcast, Crystal Ball, 2002 promo, 2001 promo compilation, 2002 single.)
The VH1 "Love 4 One Another" special contains maybe 2 minutes of DoW - not a proper video in my account. Is there a video I don't know about? If not, why would Prince have performed & recorded the song so often, without a proper video??

Prince has a ton of songs he has made videos for which have never and probably will never see the light of day.

Right - but I'm guessing most of those "vault videos" are for songs more obscure than DoW. I'm still confused why a song he seemed to push so much never got a released video.

The 'Days Of Wild' video was included in both 'The Beautiful Experience' tv broadcast and the 'Love 4 One Another' tv broadcast. they are two different versions. The first version was shot at Paisley Park Feb13th '94. It was filmed using the original studio version of 'Days Of Wild' and not the live version that turned up on Crystal Ball. This version features the performance, and then shots of Prince as a passenger in his gold Mustang playing the symbol guitar. He is also seen onstage shaving Morris Hayes' head. The second version of the video for the 'Love 4 One Another' broadcast is much closer to the version on Crystal Ball. It is a performance filmed on the same stage as used in the 'Gold' video filmed at PaisleyPark. Both versions were used for promotional purposes and never officially released.

'The Beautiful Experience' is a 70 min film that was first shown on Sky 1 TV in the UK. It was then broadcast in many other countries. The film has live footage from a Paisley Park concert filmed on Feb 13th '94 (see above post) and video clips, including 'Papa,' 'Come,' 'Loose,' and 'Race' and more. It also included a 10 min video for 'The Most Beautiful Girl In The World.' There are a number of 'segues' between songs, which feature Nona Gaye as Jan. Again, 'The beautiful Experience' tv broadcast was never officially released, but has been widely bootleged.

The Beautiful Experience performance is hands down for me the best live version of this song.

The Beautiful Expereince film raises some questions about whether Days of Wild was an actual video clip in its own right, i.e., the gold mustang scenes. If that is the case, then only parts of it were included in the BE film. The same can be speculated about Now! The clip on TBE shows footage that seems to suggest the existence of a complete, non-performance clip somewhere. As was pointed out, he did complete vid clips for many songs from that era, Race, Acknowledge Me, Papa. So why not for Days of Wild? Perhaps we'll never know. Mikey, not following you here. The live performance (PP, Feb 13 '94) differs from the studio version. For instance, the studio version has a low vocal buzzing sound during each vamp - the live version replaces that sound with a vocorder-like 'wow' sound. I note a few other changes too. Anyhow - I agree that TBE pro'lly has the most video-like video of the song! Still a bit surprised that with so many releases, no video was circulated on TV/whatever. But the artist is hard to explain.
