thats a pretty rightous and judgmental comment to someone u don't even know. well for ur information my interest of Prince is waning faster than a Usain bolt sprint right now and has been for awhile, im finding the music crap and getting worse and just all sounding a bit eric clapton-ish, i dont like him pushing JW/LG obsession on to his fans and i find it all a bit weird, i think Prince has lost it a bit mentally and musically and is becoming like a novelty act to me now, the only thing i have in common with him is the way we look. So basically wtf would i wanna clone him for? ur way off the mark there. Prince hasn't been the only artist thats tried to get out of there contract u know
yep i know
Glad ur very informative to the fans and have all the facts, good for u, coz i don't bother to be honest, and thats the thing i dont know all inns and outs of Prince, coz i don't care and im not obsessed fan that need to know every minuscule detail about him, i have my own life. But as for WB/Prince they are ripping off people with some four year old album, i dont care who the artist is, its wrong. On the plus side tho at least its giving Prince free advertisement for his shows, which he need right now with these poor ticket sales.

I don't get the ripping of part. Waht is wrong with a 4 year old album? it is not like prince has had hits in the past 4 years that should have been added. Are prices extra high for this album?

You can find this album for under 10 bux these days and worth the money. The real music came from Warner Bros. In the past 10 years I only had bought 3 Prince albums, The Very Best of Prince, Musicology (I regret buying this) and the Ultimate Prince. Last week i saw 3121 going for 2.99 but i left it there on the shelf because I needed cash for the for my nice round behind.
Prince rips off his fans more than what WB have done over the years. Why pay top dollar for kangeroo cum music from Prince these days? [Edited 6/19/10 18:10pm]

I was wrong, the campaigne for the "Ultimate" 2 cd seems to be still running on TV2 in Denmark:
Only clips from: Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, 1999, Raspberry Beret, When Doves Cry & Kiss.

What's wrong with promoting Ultimate when he's coming to the area? It's not like any of his albums from the last 15 years are still in print, if they were even ever available in some of these countries. What exactly could be promoted?

Fact check again: It wasn't compiled by Prince, it was okayed by Prince, and WB had to take Prince's suggestions for the record. WB was already going to do Ultimate.
WB isn't "cashing in". It's a ridiculous statement. THINK about what that statement means. Cashing in? Are they going to sell a few zillion of the album and "cash in", raking in some bucks? Probably not. The fact is that they want to sell records, and Ultimate will be one of those records. Prince is also "cashing in", aka making money, so where is the crime that everyone's is pissin' and moanin' about? There isn't one. I don't remember hearing anyone belly achin' when they reissued Purple Rain in a digipak for $9 at Walmart. "Oh God, they're cashing in again on Prince!" Never heard that. Seems a bit hypocritical to complain about one thing and not another.
One last note: People are clones when they attack Warner Bros for promoting a Prince record. They only do it because Prince had a big snit fit with them for a few years, and has since talked smack about them.
Yet fans forget he, while still wanting out of his contract, signed a $100,000,000 contract, that he later realized he could not live up to (in the stipulations for selling a certain amount of records in order to get a HUGE cash advance on the next record - so instead of fight and work his career, he quit and blamed the record company).
Yet fans forget in 1998, only 2 years after his contract was up, that he said he had no problem with record companies ,and he liked them, and they did their job with promotion, and "they worked, and it shows. They sell a lot of records."
Yet fans forget about who is the artist who preached about being free and how horrible those pesky record companies were, yet signed one-off deals with EMI, Sony/Columbia, Redline, Target, and Arista? Oh right, PRINCE. Yet no one is bitching about that. No one is talking smack about them. Oh, those are "just distribution deals". Yes, they are, but the fact is he still went back to a record company to get his record out. So who's the hypocrite, really?
So no one is bashing, except the fans who forget the larger picture.
Want WB to cash in? REMASTER THE RECORDS! Make them deluxe editions and start selling them for $14 a pop, every once from 1978-1993, like The Beatles did. How many Beatles compilations are there anyway? Yet they still went back, remastered their albums, repackaged them a bit and are selling them all over the place.
WB is doing their job. Period. Tell it like it is ernest. you go boy. you speak the truth.
