Of course he does. At the end of the day, he's human. But again, his private life is truly none of our actual business. Whether you think everything he writes is deeply personal or not.

ok. thats ok. i'm sure Jehovah knows anyway. maybe thats all that matters.

the question is whether or not we're invading his privacy to discuss some of his very personal lyrics.

throughout his career he has encouraged us to question things and think outside the box

The answers to this question are infinite lol Prince has been connecting these subjects for years-it's just apart of him. No matter the words used to describe sex it's just Prince. So if he discusses it in his work-why shouldn't his fans?

maybe its none of our business what color underwear he wears, if he ever wears it, or what type of toothpaste he uses, or whether he waxes his butt or not etc.. but where is the line when discussing his sex-life, or his religion, considering he openly expresses both, in his work?

what aspects of his sex-life and religion do you think are OK to discuss, and which do you think would be a very direct invasion of his privacy?

to me its ok to discuss who hes banging but it becomes intrusive when people start talking about what, how, when and where hes banging whoever his beat-piece of the week is

lol thats why its against the law to have sex in public, your suppose to do those acts in private

when discussing ones religion and its boundary's i really dont know shrug
we've been fighting wars over reglion since the beginning of civilization, so if i could answer this question i would win a Nobel Peace Prize lol lol

but honestly its really none of our business to discuss ANYONES private life

however everyones got the nosy gene. So someone somewhere is always going to be gossiping

about something thats none of their business

I'll put my two cents into this subject only once. I started listening to Prince's music in the late 70s-mid 80s, and I knew nothing about his personal life then. I've learned more about it on this board than in 30 years! But, since I never really cared about his personal life, the only reason I am here is to find out more information about the music I haven't listened to in 15 years...and hopefully I will get to see him perform live one more time. Other than that, I don't really care if his nose hairs turn gray or if he dates a more taller, masculine appearing female than him, or if he can't trip the Dance Electric on high heeled shoes anymore! It simply doesn't, and has never, mattered to me! I would just like to see him play live once more and I'm glad he is still making music, whether I think it equals his past music or not. cool

sure i can understand that, its weird though, cuz he often sings about what, how, when and where he's banging, in his songs, followed by a Jehovah's Witness sermon.

but sure, talking about anyone in such personal terms is probably taking things too far, even if he does say so himself.

probably a good thing ur not interested in much more than the music, but it seems like a lot of people are. especially who he dates, because he's made it public in many ways for many years.

I think the problem here is modern celebrity. We now think if you put yourself out there then you should be able to and should receive scrutiny. However I think that is because we get confused about modern celebrity. Someone like Paris Hilton etc do not really have a right to much privacy beacause their physical being is their product-they exist to be scrutinised and as such if they want privacy they need to disappear for a while (Which lets be honest they could if they really wanted to). However Prince has a separate product to buy into-his music and he doesn't demand you to buy into it. I understand it is nigh on impossible to separate an artist from their music but in terms of INTRUSION I do feel they have more right to be pissed off

interesting, hadnt thought of the 'socialite' type of celebrities, who really do put their private lives, to a much greater degree, out there for people to peer into. totally hear what ur saying about how hard it is to separate Prince as a person, from his music, and it kinda makes sense to assume they are one and the same in many respects. thanks for your input.

I have said many times to seperate the two because Prince is an Artist and this ishis job is to entertain. And he is icon and the world watches him. Prince privacy is his own we know that here. But you got other tv and public that listen to radio gossip internet and cable shows. Prince i guess is well a aware of this no one should enter anyone privacy.

thanks again for your opinion on this, appreciated, and yes, you have said it many times now, to separate the two, but i wonder if Prince feels the same way. his work seems to be a very direct reflection of his own thoughts and feelings in many instances, apart from the fantasy material, which i guess, is still a reflection on him.

If anything P has always been open to talk about the Creator and the scriptures that he speaks thru. Anything else, he would prefer keeping to himself. The fam/fans that have been around 10yrs min. know that he speaks thru his lyrics in his songs about what is Open Book with him.

ok, well thats good to know we can discuss his lyrics, most directly, as they pertain to his religion, and his self-declared, unmarried sex-life, as a Jehovah's Witness, seeing as he's put it out there so openly. thanks for your reply.

Prince is an entertainer and a teacher (on some levels) but let us stick 2 the 'entertainment' part of the equation. Any subject matter not related 2 his music or other entertainment related activity should be off limits but Prince chooses 2 also put his relationships, friendships, and religion out 4 people 2 talk about. Since he is often times the source of non entertainment related issues, those subjects become fair game and open 4 discussion. When u open up a can of worms...........know what u are getting into.

Of course my comments are based on a "ideal" world and view of entertainers in general and we all know that once a person becomes a "celeb" of any kind, anything goes.

I'm positive that Prince has been playing this game long enough 2 know exactly what he is doing.

He's spent 52 years cultivating his cult of personality.

No reason to suspect he'll break it down til he's on the way out.

Imagine if he published an autobiography?

it could be the case that he considers his songs his autobiography, bit it would definitely be interesting to hear him talk about his life in a book. or has he already done that in interviews? not sure
