to my knowlege prince graduated high school and went straight into the music world. it is obvious he's a well read man and is highly intelligent, far more so than 99% of the celebrity world, and probably the upper quartile of non-celebrity society.. but have his personal learning endeavors ever translated in to formal learning qualifications? i'm just interested to know. i'd love to find out he holds a qualification from clown school or something!! in all seriousness if he does i would imagine him to hold a certificate in music, history or biblical studies, perhaps egyptology or something to the similar, something he has perhaps expressed a public interest in? or perhaps something he clearly held an interest in once upon a time, such as something to do with the early internet or internet and business (..up until 2004 anyway!)

I think that Prince tries to "catch up" and "self-educate" when he has the opportunity to do so. However, when you really listen to the content of what he discusses it really does not sound very "intellectual" in my opinion. Rather it sounds like he's read some mambo jambo from uncredible sources and he does the best that he can to rehash it in a way that sounds intelligent. (Ie. Chemtrails and the number of Presidents of The United States of America prior to George Washington. Heck unlike many would like to believe Prince is not God. The man can only focus on so many things at once. Music seems to be his priority, kind of hard to really get totally engulfed in education because that takes a bit of time.

Say what you will, but she isn't afraid to play her LATEST music in concert instead of relying on 25+ year old songs. She's still a role model for many artists and gets tons of credit for breaking the glass ceiling. But originally i posted to ask if anyone knew of any other qualifications he may hold besides a high school diploma, That seemed to be more of an excuse to proclaim that Prince is a genius, something that is easily disproven. The picture I got from Per Nilsen's books and other bios wasn't that of an intellectually curious man, quite the opposite. The fact that he's always shielding himself from the outside world and surrounding himself with yes-men, speaks volumes.

He is a world-class musician, for sure. I would not classify him as an intellectual; even considering Bible studies, which do not necessarily make you intellectual (more often those studies rely on good memorization skills). I think people confuse his clever (at times) songwriting with intelligence. Prince studies a certain subject ad nauseam and incorporates that into his working lifestyle (music, web, interviews, etc.) He does not seem to hold interest in these individual subjects long after they've served him in the studio. I think if he was ever pressed to really expound on a subject (Lincoln/Avalanche, chemtrails, Stauros, etc.) he would quickly show his lack of in-depth knowledge. He's the master of the interview and soundbites.

Prince is a genius for listening to and following his People have smarts in different ways and Prince tuned into his truth at an early age

The Road Less Traveled brought him to a place where he's been able to flourish, he trusted his vision and stayed true to himself from the start.

Yet he understands the value of education .... he has donated to charities for underprivileged children to have an education which gives them hope

Schooling and education are mutually exclusive. Look our last president. Went to the best schools, but was he really an educated man?

To that end, I believe that Prince is highly educated. Just look at his level of musicianship as well as his business acumen. I know folks with doctorates in concert performance (one instrument only) and MBA's that are not as talented or successful.

Formal education is not the route that everyone requires in order to be accomplished. Besides, the Creator does not wire everyone for formal schooling.

From what I've heard, P. is an avid reader. The fact that he's an individual that is interested in and pursues knowledge is proof of his dedication to widening his knowledge base.

He just doesn't seem to be a particularly kind person, which makes me sad.

yeah, he's a history buff
