All the qualities we love about god are consistent with women, all of the things told to us about god when we are participating in religion (jealous, vengeful etc) are qualities we see in men. Life is altogether more peaceful in female dominated enviornments. Prince, ultimately wants closeness with God and he probably learns more about himself in friendship and proximity to women. I believe homeboy gets a lot of action, but nowhere near as much as we think-i believe theres some really emotionally fullfilling friendships sprinkled in there as well.
you must have never stepped foot in a female dorm

Prince is just kind of transexual. He said as much in the Oprah interview.
Yeah...didnt he tell her that he took a friend thru therapy and in those sessions realized that he had a dual personality or something?
I clearly remember him saying he wasnt sure if that other personality was male or female.
That explained it all to me and this is the argument I have used in his defense ever since.
Yep, Prince admitted to being transexual, but he did not use that particular term. That interview is available if you look for it, obviously I can't say where. But he says that he is both male and female. Heck he rocked that "ambiguous" symbol for damned near 10 years. It was like IN YOUR FACE ...lol. Yet folks want to ignore this and only look at the male part. He clearly has traits of both. I will agree that he appears to be tapping more into his "male" side these days. Perhaps due to his religion. I think Prince is a very insecure man (his extreme shyness tips you off to that as well as other things), and I think women are probably not as intimidating to him, or critical of him as men can be. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

That might very well be true, but somehow in the back of my mind there is a tiny little voice that says this might just be Prince installing himself as an out-of-this-world, intersexual, music-god-entity... and being his own prophet... I can only try to imagine how hard it must be not to come to see yourself as such when you're as gifted and laureled as he is... |

Maybe... or he might just deep down know the real truth... that God is in fact a woman, and that that in fact is the biggest lie in history... that we made God a man... |

i think prince stated that he likes the female voice better on slow records than a male voice
hes uses "Camille"
he dresses kinda feminine and i think he said he had a female alter -ego or something like that (dont quote me lol)
he always works with women
i can tell he thinks very highly of women and our feminine quality but who can blame him
but what can i say, we women exclude a gracefulness that no man can replicate .....ok ok now im just getting ahead of my self (genderwars)
but why do you think princi-pal is so influence by women and femininity ??
Fuck Prince, I'm sooo fascinated with femininity I'd be a lesbian were I born a woman. I love the women, everything about them, have always loved them and will be fascinated with them until the day I die. Hooray for Prince! |

I think people try to "overthink" something that is blatant and "In your face"! Not sure why. If Prince was a Joe Smoe on the block or in the hood, I don't think that anyone would be trying to "overthink" his sexuality. But that's just how the thing goes I guess. Prince never has to admit to anything, because he's done a hell of a good job SHOWING who he really is in that regard. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

All throughout history, the greatest works of art and music were inspired by women/femininity. You have the right idea here.... |

You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? 'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you? Don't you take it awful hard 'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I've got diamonds At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame I rise Up from a past that's rooted in pain I rise I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear I rise Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise. |

Umm...Okay
I been reading i knew: But to me this one suits Prince both poems
I've known rivers: I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the flow of human blood in human veins.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.
I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young. I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep. I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it. I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy bosom turn all golden in the sunset.
I've known rivers: Ancient, dusky rivers.
My soul has grown deep like the river

Lol. I might even agree with you there--one day, he he. The film Moonstruck with Cher made me laugh. A man was asked by Cher's on-screen mum: "why do you keep chasing these women around?". He said, "you know that rib Adam gave to Eve?". She said, "Yes...". He said, "well, I'm trying to get it back...".
Nice post, sweetie! --------
