The song by Lia "(Tell Me) It's Not Too Late" totally rips from "Alphabet St." Especially the dub mix! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

The org is so fucked up right now. It seems like every org thread that someone posts a link to is obviously not the intended thread. Your link goes to this (when clicked on - not when opened in new window):
Roger Sanchez's "1999": Australian release If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

There are omissions and errors in the above chart, but most seem to be correct.
Noted error: Jump Around does not sample Gett Off - it samples Jr Walker And The All Stars "Shoot Your Shot".
Noted omission: A bunch, but Release It uses a drum sample from Squib Cakes by Tower Of Power. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Not samples as such but same beat/chord progressions have been fairly blatant in some songs. let's call them homages rather than rip-offs
Alicia Keys (Like you'll never see me again) and Ronan Keating (The Long Goodbye) both bear striking similarities to Purple Rain.
Usher/JD produced (Do It 2 Me) is basically The Beautiful Ones.
Britney/Neptunes produced (Slave 4 U) has almost an identical beat/intro to Nasty Girl.
There's probably loads more but Prince also has similar homages/similarities in his catalogue, as gets frequently pointed out. Sometimes more obscure funk/soul, sometimes mainstream (U2 I Will Follow on Guitar etc). Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.
