Prince and The 22nd American Music Awards

Somehow I've only just came across this today....This whole performance is pretty funny; no one seems that sure of the lyrics, some of them look bored, and then falloff @ what Prince does at 1.35.

(Video Edit)

I think everyone here has seen it. But congratulations on your discovery!

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Prepare for the video to get snipped by a Mod.

We've all seen the video. Some of us saw it when it first aired. We are that old.

Prince looks like a punk up there, and a brat toward Q. I don't think he was as funny as he was disrespectful. Most of those folks were NOT part of the original recording, which is why they probably don't know half the words, especially 10 years later.

The performance earlier in the evening, despite it being lip-synced, was pretty hot. I was obsessed with that Purple Medley. I didn't know it would be released, so I was trying to come up with my own version at home to mimick it, trying to remember how it was arranged.

lol I assumed a lot of people (most people?) had already seen it, but I was just surprised that I hadn't seen it earlier myself seeing as it was only in 95, I hadn't read any mention of it on here recently so thought I'd share for any other relatively young fans. I love it how on a Prince board you can be in your late twenties and still feel like a 'young' fan lol
