What do you all actually think about the fact that Prince stopped cursing since some years ago?! I never heard anything of that topic beeing discussed here..

Am I the only one who enjoyed the time when you sing along in "Play that M.F. bass!" chant or "NPG in the M.F."house etc?!

And do you ever think we will here those great songs like "Black M.F. in the house" (I bet that version could be damn funky today with his current band members) or "Damn U", "Sexy M.F", "face down", a pure version of Darlin Nikki / Gett off etc etc,
I guess he was one of those few artist that really can use these cursing words to be really funky...

Or waddayathink?! no coments at all?

I don't mind the not-cursing so much...I do mind the preaching!

I respect his change of view. I do miss it though.

The simple truth is Prince makes the word "Fuck" sound so damn cool!

I don't mind it so much if he has totally lost his desire to add such things to his music. If he is supressing it, that's another matter entirely.
We will all know soon enough...as others have said, he seems to do things for a couple of years, and then move on...so we sit and wait.

I miss it yet...I appreciate being able to play a prince album with out having to worry about who's listening or whatever. I kinda wish..he had just cut down a bit on the swearing instead of cutting it out all together...he did have a way of swearing like no other...?? don't know why.
I don't miss the Mf'n chants really...I always thought those were a bit over the top...what I really miss is his famous "shit" (no..not his actual shit..eww) when things would be getting good on stage ya know? ahh well.
I agree with you Lav...if it's just supressed..then that's different.

the swearing was cool way back when, but Prince is too "old" for such juvenile behavior. you know, hit age 40, try to get some dignity and class.

even madonna is trying it. I don't think it's going to last though.

As long as he's on that stage singing his butt off its fine with me. But I know I was chanting that Play that M.F. Base back on the JOTY tour. (Like Prince said its BASE not BASS that's a fish).

There was a whole thread about this a few months back where folks were sure they heard him curse at Manchester gig.

The only time it p'd me off was on the ONA Live album where he leaves out the line "I ain't fuking you for kicks!" - OH MY!
