By Jove, I think you're right.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

NOT JACKED but he did help (even unconsciously) to elavate r&b/hip hop/new jack swing in the late 80's/early 90's , just because he was already a legend and mainstream enough to bring more people to it and influence hip hop artists/producers.

(opinion by the way, i know it needs to be reinforced for some of you special orgers lol x)

and ask for SAMPLING it depends how you do it. THAT doesnt make hip hop s**t, if so explain MOST of the southern "rap" songs that dont have samples but are incredibly...you guessed it S**t

P.diddys best work was in the 90's and he sampled classics and to me they sounded amazing AND WHERE most of the best hip hop songs.

Jeckyll & Hydes song was called the "The Challenge" , and rap at the time was so far under the radar that I doubt P heard it. Rap was underground and Jeckyll & Hyde were underground as a group. This was 1982 , and Run Dmc hadn't made a record yet. Only a handful of rap records on the Sugarhill and Enjoy labels existed.

Never heard it. Very cool

DId they replay it or sample it or both? The congas sound like they were added, but the main beat sounds sampled. Similalry the one keyboard part with the chords sounds added but the synth hits sound sampled.
