It was the third show of the night and the couple exiting in front of me sounded very disappointed. I recall the gentleman saying that they had just payed $150 to hear Chaka Khan sing "Sweet Thing." This is the show where Prince performed "When I Lay My Hands On You', "Journey to the Center of Your Heart", "When The Lights Go Down", and "In A Large Room With No Light" along with other non-hits. While it was amazing show for us true fans, I could see how the casual fan would not have enjoyed the show as much as some of us.
That couple would have been happier if they had attended the first show that evening. Very very true with Prince U never know what ur going to get live. If u a die-hard fan its to be expected that is what we like. But with casual fans they will be very disappointed with Prince most of the time. That's why Prince divided his shows up that special night. He knew most of the die hards would be at the last two shows. But in your case u ran across fairweather fans who are never satisfied & only know the classics not the gems.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

The first Prince concert I went to ran almost 3 hours long and looking back on it I loved it for more than the obvious reason...3 hours w/ Prince
He kinda divided the show up. First it was all the staged show for the new 0+> album. That ran for at least an hour. Then, there was a subtle break...a changeover if you will and the fun really got started. It was a hits section. It was electric and less staged. For me it was great because it was my first show, so I didn't mind all the "standards." It was before the medleys were so quick and chopped so it was HEAVEN. This was in 1993, so I don't expect the same show today naturally, but it was a fantastic blend of "old" and "new". Now with so much material to cover, Prince is really tasked with finding a blend that will really satisfy his entire audience (first timers through hard core fans), especially in the 1 hr 45-ish minutes his shows are running now. Win some...lose some.... I'm firmly planted in denial

At 2:55 I can relate to what he's sayin.. if I were to go to a P concert I WOULD want to see him more so then the band ya know? "Not to sound cosmic, but I've made plans for the next 3,000 years," he says. "Before, it was only three days at a time."

I agree. Hes not that old. And has so many great songs, better yet with all his talent he should be bringing out more hits.
