In Minnesota football is Vikings.

apart from being courteous enough to go to vikings games for whatever 'vibe' he needed to tune into to compose the spectacular Purple & Gold, cant see him being much of a football fan.

No but he's a big basketball fan.

He supports Middlesbrough (in the northeast of England). he likes the way that season after season the fans are promised big name players in order to trick them into buying season tickets then selling any decent players they already had, diminishing the product and leaving u cheated (lotu$flow£r anyone?). he also loves a hot parmo before the game and chatting up the jailbait at the front of the north stand.

I heard that the real reason for the name Vanity 6 was that Prince originally intended them to join a female 6-a-side soccer league. Unfortunately 3 of the team had career ending metatarsel injuries and Prince thought "sod it I'll write them a few songs instead".
