I am a manager in an office. I took 4 Prince albums- Purple Rain, 1999, Parade, and ATWIAD , framed the covers and hung them in my office. They go with the rest of the decor. I get 1 of 2 responses. Either, "Oh those are great!" or a long stare at them and a sideways look at me. My husband says it doesn't seem like very professional wall hangings. I love them! What do think?

i was a rambo fan in the office, had posters, figures and the like....when my office mate posted pics of prince and purple boas and such, our corner became the entertainment hub for the office.

I used to have a few posters and pictures up around my desk - it made it easier for IT to find me, just said look for the Prince pictures !! my co workers didn't like it though and kept asking me to take them down (but I refused they are just ......... you know who you are)

one was of Lovesexy album cover and someone defaced it by painting a bikini on P - now that I found offensive !!!

Maybe take down ATWIAD and 1999 and replace them with Sgt. Pepper or something else with a decorative aspect to it. Parade is a real work of art though. Slick, stylish cover that one.

Then I'd say you might want to re-think your choices. You also made a comment above "Hopefully no one will notice the details." That suggests that you may be pushing the limits.

If you worked in a more creative, artistic environment, I'd say keep them, but since you work in healthcare I'd certainly keep the choices more conservative.

It's all well and great to express yourself and push the limits, but if your medical company has the same type of rules that my hospital has, (and since I live in UT I'd say your company is probably quite a bit less restrictive than mine), personal choices in the workplace can have an ill effect.

In the end, you have to decide if any consequences you might incur because of your choice of office decore is worth it.

I had a WONDERFUL job at a collections office for a car finance cmpny. Well the job wasn't wonderful as much as the people I worked with. A bout 5 dudes and COUNTLESS numbers of lesbians. I'm not exaggerating. It was bomb as hell. Some were butch or whatever they call it but some were all about the lipstick. They were ALL cool. The butch ones would talk like dudes and U could get away with lewed non-person specific comments cuz the butch chicks would dig 'em but then U also get the pretty side too....

....well anyways...my point is that I could put up hot mini-posers at my cubicle cuz everyone dug 'em...the dudes, the chicks. I always had birttany posters or Janet posters. At other collections jobs I had, that wouldn't have flew...but it worked at that one. Plus therre was no customer exposure. It all depends on the kind of job, who your boss was.
