If Prince Released The Vault?

I would think some of Prince's mystery would disipate if he did this, even thought I would be the first in line to buy his unreleased gems from the past. I personally don't think this will happen till he is long gone.
I picture myself one day as a senior citizen saying....Finally!

Yes, even thought there are some gems on there, I can think of plenty of songs that are unreleased that would merit a release. ie...the original "In A Large Room with No Light & All My Dreams, to name a couple.

I was actually thinking about some of the outtakes and bootlegs that I've heard over the years.

I really don't care for most of the material. SOme of it I just plain don't like.

I'm hoping the vault material wont' be 90% filler and 10% whatever else.

But honestly, if he released the vault, it would probably takes years to absorb it all before any opinions can be made.

And it would certain take years and years to digest and discuss.

I doubt he has anything to worry about being 'mysterious'. The dude is 51. That 'mysterious' act is played.

Don't most artists record more songs than what end up on a cd? They pick what they believe to be the best material and put it out? I'm thinking most, not all, of the material in the vault is second rate to what was released. That being said, I would still love to hear any material that was leftover from 1982-1996. I would much rather get at the live video that had been recorded over the years.

I agree somewhat, but I think Prince has so many ideas going on at once, they don't always work with the continuity of the given project/vibe. I think sometimes he saves a song, intends to go back to it, gets bored, and ultimately moves on in a totally different direction.

I think with most artists, outtakes are just that. With Prince, I think some of his unreleased tracks are some of the best work he has ever done.
