Rehearsal Dec. 6, 1990 Just pulled this out for a listen and I am loving it. Prince and NPG rehearsing for the South American concerts in early 1991, basically a straight run through of the songs. If you like the Diamonds and Pearls era NPG, this reharsal is a must. Prince plays some fierce guitar on Cream.
One question: why was Robin Power there? She does a rap called "I'm the Teacher" at the end of Horny Pony. Was he planning to take her out on tour? Unless it was pre-recorded, but it soesn't really sund like it... Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

Ask her, she is here on the org. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Two reasons. 1)To do that rap and 2) To get the soundboard tape out of Paisley park But really, this is a great rehearsal (the bootleg I have is called Something Paisley). The highlight for me is the super funky Daddy Pop that has lyrics from Release It and Fight The Power. I'm not a huge fan of the Diamonds And Pearls material, but everything done to the D&P songs during that rehearsal were better than what was released. Live 4 Love was made slower and more interesting in my opinion. You're right on about the guitar work in Cream. Prince must have been on bass for Horny Pony, as the 4-string is really poppin'. The low point of the practice session was Let's Go Crazy, which is a favorite of mine, but stinks here as has been the case since the demise of The Revolution. I'm not sure if the scratching/snare brush sound throughout the rehearsal is cool, or annoying, though. Who was on drums? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Michael B is on the drums, prince even shouts out "michael B in the house" at one point during the "release it/daddy pop/love machine" mash up. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
