Midnight Special 1980 To set the scene for what it was like when this first aired and dinosaurs still roamed the earth: Jimmy Carter was president, a HP personal computer with 8K of RAM & a 5 inch monitor cost over $3,000. There were no video channels, in fact most of us only had 3 channels -- maybe 20 if you had cable -- so we had few chances to see musicians except live in concert.
So let's pretend it a cold night in January of 1980 and this was flickering on the family TV set sometime after 1:00 AM: [Video snip - luv4u] Enjoy!

This will be gone soon. But in the meantime... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
