FYI, Gayngs is a local 'super group' composed of around two dozen members from local alternative bands.

I'd heard Prince was in attendance at Friday night's second of two Gayngs concerts at First Ave, but 90 percent of the time I hear that it's a bogus report (although it has been true more often of late).

Now comes word via the Gayngs bunch that not only did he show for the one-night-only performance by the regional all-star band, he actually showed up with guitar in hand.

"He jammed to the tunes side stage," reported manager Nate Vernon. "He wanted to play with us, but after watching for a while he told Conrad that we 'had it covered.' "

Between this and his recent hop on stage at Bunker's before heading to NYC for the Time magazine concert, we need a local 'Purple Alert Squad' to give everybody the heads-up of any possible sightings or shows.

Hope he opens the Park and does some warm up rehearsals before his upcoming European shows.

It's nice to see him showing up around Minneapolis, and especially at First Ave. He's been there now 2 or 3 times - that I know of, anyway - this year already.
