Example is i HATEEEEE dirty mind and controversy. Parade in comparison is a pretty good album. BLASPHOMY Dirty Mind & Controversy are foundational album, these 2 shaped the way for 1999 Purple Rain even SOTT If U said something like i HATEEEEE Rave Un2 the Joy... or Chaos & Disorder or Exodus, ok but nawwwww not DM or C | |

to each his own but I think parade is one helluva fonky album, with strings without strings. It's great and shows the continuation of how prince would not be pidgeonholed by anyone. I for one am glad he didn't keep doing vitage prince music. I mean I"m sure it would have been great but I'm glad he at least dared, had the balls to turn most of his "fans" away and do what he wanted. I like and admire mavericks. | |

Can I get an honest answer to why ppl still refer to Prince as 'P'? I mean, i know ppl did it when he changed his name, i just called him Prince, but he's back to Prince, why don't ppl just call him Prince? As for "Parade", I am surprised at how many people rate it so highly. It's maybe the weakest of his eighties efforts outside of "Batman". It's still damn good, and it's got some classics ("Mountains" and "Kiss") but it's sort of there. [Edited 5/17/10 13:27pm] | |

ok i feel ya on the pigeonholed thing ,but to me it came off as prince trying to make a fun album that was missing the FUN!! see my thing is the album sounds better in the movie than it does as just an album lol if that makes any sense | |

My thinking is that he was better with people around whose ear he trusted and could say no. I think it has been a long time since he's heard that from anyone he works with. |
