George Clinton told me that it annoys him too.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

That's not what Sly Stone told me.

Aww fuck, who am I kidding? Sly doesn't say anything to anyone!

Why does anybody drop names?

Poor self-concept.

Not really. It depends on the motivation of course, right? I can say I talked to Fink, but that doesn't really change who I am, or any connection I have with Prince. I mean, most of us are one or two degrees away from Prince anyway right? Rhastus knows The Time quite well. I've talked to Fink, St. Paul, Susannah, and Monte Moir one on one (via phone or Skype). I'm still just me. I'm richer inside for the experience, and grateful, but it didn't turn me upside down.

It's those who want to get a pat on the back and the beaming lights of adoration that name drop all the time like that. That's when the poor self-concept is in full bloom. I think you'd agree.

As far as Prince, I have no idea why he drops names from Chante to Macy to Common to ?uestLove, to whoever. A lot of those people did not have positive experiences with him anyway, so who's bragging about who at that point?
