Basement Rehearsals...

Wow...I missed something a few months ago, but those basement rehearsals are a real treasure from the past i would say. Great to see and hear all day all night, our destiny and roadhouse garden and all the others in these rare pictures!

someone knows more about the source of all this?

(could be that I missed a post on this forum about this, my apoligies...)

It's The Warehouse we've always heard about, not a basement. It's one of the greatest pieces of Prince history ever caught on film.

Especially the performance of "Something in the Water". Idk the exact date for this rehearsal, was it before or after the Purple Rain album was released?

If I remember correctly, it was June 6, 1984, a rehearsal for his bday show at 1st Ave.

Couple of weeks prior to the album release.

I always heard it was June 7, 1984, the rehearsal the day of "26" birthday show.

"When Doves Cry" single - May 9, 1984
Said rehearsal - June 7, 1984
Purple Rain album - June 26, 1984
Purple Rain film - July 27, 1984

Yeah, I thought I came across those videos not too long ago but wasn't sure if they were fake b/c it seemed too good to be true. I never got an answer but it seemed amazing even if it was a fake but they didn't seem like it.
