As we were waiting in line I spotted him leaving the place and jumping into his limo. He had on a purple suit with an orange shirt (with the matching purple heels). I actually was able to grab a shot with my digital cam. Unfortunately I lost the memory card with the pics from that night before I was able to transfer them to my computer, but it was a great night. I met Jay-Z at that show along with ?uestlove.
Sounds like Prince with that suit I like the Bryant Park pic btw

He invited me and my friend to go back to the hotel afterwards. But I was only 15 and I told him that I had to go to school the next day .....LOL.... In 1988 I met prince in a nightclub in Dortmund after the television show in september. He was just dancing around and looking at everybody. My father talked to him for a little bit.....I was to nervous and to shy. But I will never forget that night. I'm going to see Prince in Arras France. Last concert was 10 years ago..... That's just to long...

I saw PRINCE in the back of GLAM SLAM club Miami back in '95 when I attended the Birthday show at Glam Slam. It was great! I took a fantastic photo of him walking out to his car along with Tommy B and Michael B and Sonny T. I was also able to get my photo taken with Eric Leeds too. I need to scan the photo and post it. He was wearing a green outfit with hat. I also saw PRINCE in May of 2001 in LA at his concert. My daughter was just born 2 days before (she came a week early) and I had tickets to the show but could not attend. I was able to get out of the hospital for an errand and run down the Sunset Ave to the venue. I stopped by to at least buy some concert souvenirs. I spoke to a guard and explained my situation. He was super cool, understood and let me in for a few minutes while people were out waiting in line to get in for the show. He escorted me in to buy my stuff. I heard a guitar playing and some drums and realized there was a rehearsal session going on. I asked the guard if that was Prince playing and he said probably…with a wink. I built up the courage and asked if I could peek through the doors that lead to the staging area and he said yes! YES!!! So he escorted me to the next door, opened it up and there was PRINCE on guitar at the mic. There were a few techs and someone I did not recognize on drums but I am sure he was a tech. I was able to take a minutes worth of observation as my heart was racing! Prince looked up at us at one point and said “Hi” in his deep voice and HE SMILED! So my daughter was born and I got to see PRINCE that same week. I missed the concert and the Jay Leno appearances which I had tickets for. I held my baby in my arms as she slept and watched PRINCE on Leno in the hospital. GOOD and CHERRISHED memories. Aww! What a beautiful story I like stories like this where Prince just comes over to fans-so cool You are so lucky to have a beautiful baby and that beautiful experience in the same week

here's the story: went to my 1st prince concert in 1996 around the emancipation era("Jam of the year") in chicago. this was the show in which the bulls won 6 championships. ("We Gets Up") so, as i was standing in line, i see 2 big bodygaurds walking by me...nothing unusual there as there were a few bulls players at that show too....and then...i heard him..for some reason that night i couldn't turn my head to look directly at prince so i just looked out the corner of my eye...he's like a walking metronome(just think of the song "shy" and you'll know the pace in which he walked past me) so yes "It's about that walk"..as in keeping time with an internal beat..and i heard it. this is what he was wearing: ankle boots-mid stacked heels a blue-purple lace body suit(his build is wiry, slightly bowlegged, not skinny) the black cropped jacket that he wore at the first avenue rehersals for S.O.T.T. (unless it's a different one, the movie one is rutched in the back when he sings "forever in my life" his hair was slightly tussled in the "New Power Soul" style, dark sunglasses. he put his finger up to his mouth as if to say" "shhh". he was late for the soundcheck as a few people already saw him going into the united center. so.there ya go. i tried to make it as descriptive as possible given that some here have never seen prince in concert. Down to the last detail I like you-good looking out work I don't think I would stare to long at him either This sighting was worth the wait

He had performed earlier that evening for some record executives and industry peers at the Jack The Rapper family reunion's annual music convention. He walks into the club about 2:30 am. in a powder blue suit, complete with matching heels and a cane, along with two females 4 security guards, and 2 of Atlanta's finest. He walked right past me. Needless to say, I was in awe. He walked across the dance floor and sat with his two ladies and starred at everyone. Dominique and his wife came over and greeted him, but no one else was allowed anywhere near him. Then the stupid DJ starts playing nothing but Prince music. I thought to myself, WTH would Prince come to a club to hear his own music? An experience I will never forget.

More than once-Do Tell Briefly, Oakland, CA - Sheila E.'s birthday party. I was working at the club (Old Warehouse Cabaret-where I used to listen to Rosie Gaines and her then husband perform weekly) where the party was held. We were expecting Prince, and the staff was told not to initiate any conversation with him. Prince arrived fashionably late, sat down, drank orange juice and left after a couple of hours. He seemed painfully shy and seemed to be there out of obligation rather than choice. San Francisco - Aftershow at DV8. Ran into Prince on the staircase (I didn't know it led to offices, I was thinking balcony. I backed down to let Prince and his entourage come down. Later than night Prince knelt in front of me and played guitar. He was about two feet away. I just watched him play moreso than looking at him. Before he knelt in front of me he was eyeballing me, I guess to gauge if I would do anything. I could see the henna on his hands, his manicured nails. He played for awhile then got up smiled and went back to the middle of the stage. Later that night after the show, hanging around talking to the band, Prince comes out, pauses, looks irritated, waits for his car and climbs in without a word. San Jose - Saw him arriving in his limo. His window was down and we were walking to the venue. I saw him and pointed with a grin, at which point the window closed. Reno - He was in the box being wheeled out of the arena. I was looking for it because I'd heard that he'd done that before and being in the arena, I didn't see any other way for Prince to exit. (It was a basketball arena, in the round, so no backstage to exit through.) Las Vegas - A club show. Forget the name of the club but we walked in after waiting for hours in the sun. Prince is doing his soundcheck from a couch in the middle of the room. Prince is reclining so you don't see him but you can hear him directing the setup crew. I was ready to sit on the couch until I saw Prince reclining there. He shrugged and we exchanged grins. I posted up where I could see him do the sound check. Surprisingly no one approached him and he didn't have bodyguards around him to prevent it. San Francisco, Fillmore - he just walked past on his way to the stage with a group of bodyguards. I was with a group that included girls that had seen Prince a few times but they started screaming. I asked them to stop and I think Prince heard. He looked embarrassed hearing them screaming. I think that's about it for my close encounters. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

A couple friends and I were hanging out in the parking lot before the show around 3:00pm and all of the sudden all of these limos started pulling into the venue's parking lot. There was a ramp that went down underneath the venue. We had gotten out of our vehicle and stood at the edge of the ramp watching the limos take the ramp into the venue. The last limo stopped at the bottom of the ramp and came all the way back up in reverse and stopped. A bodyguard (who I would later realize was Gilbert Davison) got out of the front and came around to the back and opened the door and Prince got out and said hello and shook our hands. I managed to get 1 photo before Gilbert asked me not to take anymore. Prince got back in and they went into the venue and we were all speechless!
That's so cool I wonder what made them back the limo up? Hanging out on the ramp huh I guess he was feeling friendly towards his fans. Yes, hanging out by the ramp. I was a DETERMINED 18 year old. TRUE BLUE

Here he is storming out of the same super Walmart because he thought he was 'tricked' into believing that Walmart had a blue-light special. When the employees insisted blue-light was a k-mart promotional tool, he stormed out screaming, "Pits!" and (I suspect) headed over the k-mart to check out the Jacklyn Smith Pajama collection (to match PJs he's wearing in the picture here).

During the first celebration at PP he drove right beside me going to the performance at the college. I didn't realize I needed to make a right and when I looked to crossover there he was next to me in his white Beamer. He then made the right turn as I had to continue straight. Sucker prevented me from going the right way!

It is really a short story, but it was cool to see him: it was after the 2nd Montreux show last year. I was going to pick up my car near the train station, I was walking by the back of the Montreux Palace and saw him going out of the car with bodyguards and umbrellas.. then he entered the Palace and stop for 5 sec, right in front of the (only) uncovered window. I was able to look at him.. it was sooo great.
