Who thinks that Prince should release a pure electronic album? Well, I do.
And I'm not talking about hard-synths (Timberlake, Rhianna) or shit-hop bullshit, Wouldn't it be cool f he could release an album with a sound/production similar to Daft Punk or Basement Jaxx, electronic duos that mix funk, jazz, disco with hardocore electronica??? Ok, ok, I know MPLSound is electronic (sort of) and blah blah blah, but I'm talking about a straight 1999 sequel or something like that, but with a modern 00s production. That's why I was so excited in 2006 with 3121 and electro songs like Lolita, BlackSweat or Love. But of course, after that he has fully embraced rock again (Planet Earth, LotusFlower ) What do U think???

I think it would be brilliant.
Daft Punk meets Prince and goes out to lunch with Kraftwerk. Bring It on!!!

I'd love it. Throw a little Imogen Heap in there for good measure. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Or even if he gave up production duties for once in his career (though i doubt this will EVER happen) and let someone like Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, or Basement Jaxx produce his next album.
That would be interesting. [Edited 5/18/10 14:06pm]

I'm not a big fan of electronic music. 3121 was probably the closest thing we'll get to an electronic album, but u never know. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I would like to hear the collaborative output of song work by PRINCE and Duran Duran’s NICK RHODES. Nick is an amazing keyboard whiz in the studio especially with sound and layering of synth tracks. I think it could be quite interesting and unique. Dad. Cartoonist. Illustrator. TOPPS Star Wars and Walking Dead Illustrator. Film Illustrator. JEDI. PRINCE Fan. www.theartofprince.com

I'd pay + 30$ for that album [Edited 5/18/10 14:19pm]

Im cool with Him doing anything out of the ordinary!
As a DM fan I'd like to see him and Martin Gore work together, and I would want to hear Dave Gahan and P sing together...could be awesome, but it COULD also suck. [Edited 5/18/10 14:27pm] "It's all good when U no the only fame is the light that comes from God, and the joy U get 2 say His name."

Prince tries to do this music occasionally (some tracks on 3121/mplsound?) but he tends to concentrate on it being a pop/hit record rather than an electronic soundscape type concept - too much hook, chorus, lyrics, not enough space to let the groove build - like many songs on 1999 basically. I think Discojellyfish was a hint in the right direction but then he added crap lyrics and spoilt it!
