Prince's music affects me like the music of any artists; it's emotional, energetic, up beat or somber. I find myself being in a certain frame of mind before i listen to a P song. On the off chance I am absent of any particular mood or feeling and Prince comes on then yes,,,his music can influence my thoughts but not much. I'm more visual so I need to see Prince in order to feel amorous or hear him talk about some random subject in order to feel irritated and annoyed.

I don't think an ability to alter peoples' moods is a quality unique to Prince's music.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

... back when I first became a fan of P's music I would say the Live 4 Love and Love4oneanother "vibe" was my niche. I still live according to that to this day. My thoughts yeah, my behavior, yeah ... I'm a grown as man now so it's a little different but I love the "idea" of it.
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I do have to wiggle my ass when certain Prince songs come on. Sometimes a little air guitar/bass/drums is thrown in.

I think all forms of entertainment and media can have an influence on a person to a certain degree. Especially when it comes to the youth and adolescents.

Yes having read 10 books on hypnosis and watching hypnosis seminars I would say 101% yes.. Your personallity social circle believes and behaviours will attract you to certain styles of music in some case you see metal heads dresed like goths for example. Behaviours and social circle attract you to music. So music will help enforce these beliefes and behaviours of that style or genre....

Obviously were not all as suggestable as for example punks or goths not that there is anything wrong with being suggestable I love goths and punks. Being suggestable is as much a gift and strenghth.

Hypnosis suggest's
Music whilst driving effects your performance. Fast music = fast laps...Heavy metal, d&b, jungle, = agresive fast laps more likly to take risk.. clasical less aggresive more accurate slower to start with on early laps.

Repetive work ie arrobics gym = repetitve music for best result and longer work out

Music is well known for endusing listeners into trance we have all done it eyes closed sleeping to music it effects your mood when you wake up .

So yes Music certianly has an element of one of thousands of things that can trigger off many different possiable behaviours which stem from our inner emotions.

Watch any guitarist or ask me or any other guitarist they will descrbe going into trance or any sax player its called improvising.. Hypnosis would call that inducing hypnotic consiousness (spelling??) or hypnotic sleep shall we say.

The mind focuses all its energy into a task and as bruce lee would say is at one .

Quite proud of my answer

Absolutely - I got hugely into him back in '87 at a tender age and imitated his dance moves, the mannerisms and everything.

Nothing sinister, but he did affect my behaviour in public..his effortless cool, the way he was so graceful with his hands, the way he used his eyes.. Maybe his demeanour was the way I shielded myself from my own adolescent insecurities...hey, if I could look as cool as Prince and act like him then nothing could touch me.

Of course, not everyone thought Prince was cool. Doh!

I'm all grown up now but his influence on me is deep rooted and I still do things subliminally that I'll have seen in a film like UTCM or in some photo/interview..

Yes it does. On many levels:

-Whenever I think/daydream about having sex, for some reason, theres ALWAYS "Do Me Baby" playing in the background. And everynow and then I'm playing a remake of the "Insatiable" music video in my mind with some hot random girl lol

- I have different Prince playslist for different moods... Names of my iTunes PLists :" Prince blue"(sad and melancolic)/"PartyUp!" (funky tunes)/"Prince Sex Songs" (obviously...)

-I have a quite androgynous look whenever I go out : Make up, female boots, tight and bright clothes... And when hitting on girls @ clubs, bars, I sometimes acts like him in "Purple Rain" and "Under The Cherry moon"... Mysterious, quite effeminate and poetic whispers... One thing 4 sure: IT WORKS!

confused yeah, the MoFo ahs taken over my mind/life.. Someone please call an exorcist lol

But isn't spending time on a message board part of your thoughts & behavior? Isn't Prince's music what brought you here?

When you hum his music, isn't that your thoughts at work, and isn't humming or singing a behavior?
