Can this Omnibus documentary be viewed, or purchased?

I don't know about Omnibus but look up Prince of Paisley Park, it's showed on TV sometimes, it was 100% focused on the Lovesexy era, aftershow clips, studio clips, pre rehearsals show clips, band interviews etc etc

Cat Let me see ya dance
the album features one of the most shockingly unusual Prince songs: "Bob George," in which he assumes the identity of a cursing, gun-wielding alter ego who murders a woman and dismisses the figure of Prince as "that skinny motherfucker with the high voice" (later used as the title of an album of lo-fi Prince covers by Dump). Bob George was performed on the Lovesexy tour.
The track is a direct answer to music critic Nelson George, who was very critical of Prince's music in the mid-1980s.[ "Bob George" features a growling monologue that is slowed down to the point of being almost unrecognizable as Prince. Some[who?] interpret the track as a commentary on the glorification of violence and misogyny inherent in the gangsta rap musical genre, which was in its infancy at the time. The voice at the end of the song that says "bizarre" is actually a stock sound from the Fairlight CMI IIx library, pitched up.

I'm late in reading through this thread (FANTASTIC PHOTOS here! Thank you to everybody who has posted pics! They all brought back so many wonderful memories of the music and that time in Prince's history, and of my life during that time..) but I had to comment on this post..
I think it's probably the most eloquently put descriptions of the Lovesexy era I've ever read, and I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment.
Great, great post, Tron.

Some friends and I were immediately outside the Paisley Park gates that night along with appoximately a couple hundred other hopeful gatecrasher types (my friends and I were all around 20 years old at that time, and we still attempted stuff like that ) and I can remember hearing music from inside that tent and wishing so badly I could get inside.
The other thing I remember is the security guard telling everyone going inside the gates (or that was trying to!) that he needed to see their 'Purple Heart' pass before they would be allowed in.

I'm surprised no one brings up the other hidden message in the "Alphabet St." video as much as they bring up the Black Album reference. There's a part right after his little guitar solo on top of the car, and the screen flashes a few times. The words "GOD I LOVE U" flash through the screen. It was the first thing I noticed about the video back then, before I ever found the Black Album reference.

LoveSexy is tied with SOTT, for me, for best album he's ever done. Both are completely different and showcase very different sides to him, I think.
Not so much a fan of the Black Album. Felt like a boring demo version of LoveSexy given their similar sounds in some aspects. I do love the shit out of "Rockhard" and "Le Grind" though.
