Sign O The Times Video I know alot of people think this music video is crap, but I like it for its attention given to the lyrics. Anyone concur? | |

Yeah, in a way the words stand as powerful over imagery.
Very similar to George Michaels "Praying For Time", also a very powerful and heck, relevant today lyrics. But I think at the time, Prince didn't want to promote Sign because the record company cut the album down from the original Crystal Ball 3 record set. | |

I think most of Prince's videos are crap.
There are only three good ones i can think of. Kiss. This really captures the mood of the song i.e very fun and cool! Greatest Romance Ever Sold. In my opinon, one of his best videos, let down by an average song. Sign Of The Times. As you said, the focus is on the lyrics. And what brilliant lyrics they are! "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

I like this video for the same reason. Great move on LIL MAN's part not to appear in it. Prince was set to deliver this video to MTV back in 1987, but since they wouldn't air Jill Jones's "Mia Bocca", LIL MAN said "well no SOTT video for you"!!! | |

I'm 100% positive that Jill Jones album came out before the fall of 87'. It came out around summer of 87. But the "Mia Bocca" single was out in early 87'. The reason why I know it didn't come out in fall of 87 is because 87' was the year I graduated from high school. And I had this Jill Jones album a few days after my graduation which was June 6.
