WAKE UP, WENDY!!!

it's in the 1st ave, rehearsal version - he also says "mash it" and "yes i will" (in a slightly 'gay' voice) that aren't in the final live version, which brings a bit of comedy to it - i like it, but glad he kept it serious for the proper version.

I agree, the final mixed version that would've been on Purple Rain, would have possibly been the 1st ave. version (but i would guess that pure studio versions exist of all PR songs, although no one has ever heard them). There is an demo-ish instrumental version of Purple Rain (song) that W&L play from a tape in the film - maybe this is what Purple Rain studio version would sound like?)

Cuz baby, U shock my wild
With a sexual electricity extraordinaire
Come and take advantage and undress me
I don't even know U, I don't even care

I thought it was, "Baby, u shock my wire." Makes more sense.

The correct lyric is "Wire"..Not all Prince lyrics online are exactly the right ones
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

The rehearsals for this show is great. I like how my man is conducting or explaining to the band about how the format of the song should go.
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

emesem

the best thing about this song is how perfectly it captures the PR era without the "playedoutness" of the actual PR songs.
