Not very exciting...and a liitle geeky but I've noticed in a few of the more recent TV aapearances he's actually wearing 'flipflops' (Leno Old Skool Company) and White trainers (Leno Feel Better....)

With his hips, I'm surprised he isn't wearing Rockports.

I had to give up high heels two decades ago--I'm surprised that P kept wearing them as long as he did...

He did wear heels on Tavis. But he sat the whole time. He wore his wedges for the October show at Paisley - and was limping noticeably by the end of the night.

You know when someone has hip surgery, they have to limp for some amount of time immediately afterwards - if they can walk at all. I have yet to see Prince in this condition.

These shoes look alot more comfortable than the high heels he's been wearing for years.

My dad had arthritis in his hip for almost 30 years. He had a noticeable limp for my entire life. He got it replaced in 2002 and was down for the count for a few weeks to a couple of months. He wishes now that he'd done it sooner and walks with no limp, but he was waiting until the technology got to the point where he could get one that wouldn't have to be replaced.

I hope Prince gets it together to go through with it. There won't be any of that straight up and down jumping in high heels where his feet hit his ass like I saw him doing as recently as the O2 shows (Controversy?), but he won't have to limp.....

As long as he is comfortable I'm cool with it

My daughter was in a serious car crash in October 2009. She was hit in the driver door which caused an injury to her left hip. Her pelvic bone on the left side was pretty much shattered so basically, there was no socket in which the hip bone at the top of the femur would fit.

She had reconstructive surgery of the pelvic bone. The surgeon put it back together with plates and pins and screws. After surgery, my daughter had 3 weeks of rehabilitation and then after she got home, physical therapy lasted for 2 to 3 months.

I am in awe of how quickly she was even able to stand, to take light steps, and then to fully walk again. By February, she was able to walk with full weight on both legs.

If any of you were to watch her walking now, you wouldn't believe that she had had such extensive damage to her hip.

Maybe mentioning my daughter's injury is off the line here, but if Prince has had hip surgery (and I know that "rumor" has floated for years...oh well), he's still young and strong enough to come through with great results.

As far as Prince's footwear changing over the years, so what? Mine have, too. Comfort for the feet can in turn cause comfort for the rest of the body.

As far as the controversy over JWs and hip replacement surgery goes--I know that UCLA deals with JW's on a regular basis--especially children. The big issue is transference of blood. At certain hospitals, like UCLA, you can store your blood for surgery before the procedure. That is why many JWs choose to go to clinics like UCLA that understand and will deal with the issues. With P's resources, I can't imagine that he wouldn't do something similar if he has foot or hip problems.

God this is still so horrible to remember. I felt really really awful for him. He was leaning against Cora's drums for a while acting like he was just chilling but it was obvious he was aching.
