I think for the most part everyone's been pretty accurate w/ their answers. Leaves me thinking... I wonder which one of his albums is his least personal? But that's another topic for another thread. cool

I know this isn't going to be a convential answer, but I'd say The Black Album. Not because its particularly heartfelt or anything... I see it as an almost quite sarcastic response to critisism, and you could argue that Prince took the accusations of loosing his funk sound quite "personally" wink

nod

Judging from your logic, I'd include:

PFunk
Hello
and The Times(which are indirect nudges to the critics who slammed him as not being funky).

Purple Rain

then again, all of his releases are personal in a sense that through them, he reveals a part of himself, which he normally does not expose in the general public

Lovesexy stands out to me. It was also the one that I had the strongest personal connection to, and I think that's not a coincidence.

I am not sure about an entire album plus it’s hard to tell what we would consider as factual truth behind “personal feelings and emotions” based on what Prince went through or experienced without hearing it directly from him but I do feel there are numerous songs through out his career that we, as a listener, could get the feeling that the song itself might come into fruition based on some sort of personal experience Prince went through or had.

Here are some that are possibilities that come to my mind…

Dolphin
The Holy River
Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother, Wife
Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do
Man ‘O War
I Love U But I Don’t Trust U Anymore
The Cross
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
17 Days
Reflection
The One
For You
When We’re Dancing Close and Slow
The Beautiful Ones
Anotherloverholenyohead
Eye Hate U
Anna Stesia
Eye No
LoveSexy
Gold
The Truth
Welcome 2 The Dawn
Resolution
Somewhere Here On Earth
Te Amo Corizon
Emancipation
In This Bed I Scream
Somebody’s Somebody
Space
3 Chains Of Gold
Le Grind
Dead On It
Solo
