if it were the 80s on the Org how do you think things would be? would we be reacting to princes music differently or any other artists music differently? would the Org be different? well??  | |

We'd be like, "Oh my god". Like totally! Gag me with a spoon! Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. | |

Considering the fact that back in the 80's I was just discovering what I felt was "my" music and not my father's music or my step-pop's music I believe my point of view of P's music was waaaayyy different. I was one of thoz cats that thought he was a "switch hitter" and I did not wanna have anything to do with him. MJ, yeah but not Prince but, if I was a Prince fan, to answer your question. The org would've been a GREAT place then. We all would have been singing his praises along with The Revolution. The vibe would have been kids just sayin' how much they love his music, his look and his ladies (me). Kinda reminds me how the org was back when I 1st joined.  it was FUUUUuuuUUUUuuNNNNnnNN back then.

In the 80's, there was this hardcore group of "early Prince" fans that resented all of the new fans that came along with Prince's mass crossover appeal (MTV +"Little Red Corvette" and even moreso with Purple Rain).
You can be sure that this group would be complaining and longing for the good ol' Dirty Mind era. "New Power slide...." |

If it were the "Purple Rain" era, everyone would be pretty much happy and agreeing with each other except the fans of Prince before "Purple Rain" would be pointing and laughing at the new Prince fans who just love Cyndi Lauper's new song "When You Were Mine". Damn, that girl sure can write a good song. And did y'all know that Prince has an a brand new song? It's called "Controversy".
If it were the "Around The World In A Day" era or later, we would be divided like we are now. Kinda like when Prince became a Jehovah's Witness years later. He just wasn't the same person anymore and fans would be divided on it and expressing it.
