Best Stage show/Set up What do you guys consider his best Stage show/set up?
I have to give it to the Diamonds and Pearls shows. I love the pyro, the illuminated Symbol above the stage. All the smoke and lights. Lots of energy!!! I think thats one thing missing fromn his shows these days. Would love to see see some Pink Floyd style lazer lights and all the smoke and pyro again.

I liked the Musicology set up. A lot of energy and every show was a party! Prime aka The Kid

I think the 02 looked better. Same concept as Musicology, but stage was too cool. I also thought the 1999 stage was cool in a futuristic, venetian blind, sort of way. That said, Sign O' The Times is probably my favorite stage set up. "New Power slide...."

Lovesexy was Prince' biggest stage production, and imo his best.
The stage, lightning, props and set pieces were intricate, technically complex and beautifully designed. It counts as one of the most ambitious stage productions anyone ever attempted to put on the road, sadly it wasn't a commercial succes. "this especially prepared potato is called pomme de terre"

I'm partial to Lovesexy, because I saw it live.

I'd have to go with Lovesexy Tour.
Sign 'O' the Times would've been number one if he'd played it live in America. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I've seen almost every Prince tour, but nothing I've seen in person was as cool as the O2 symbol stage looked on video.
Never got to see the Endorphinmachine set-up, though.

The Superbowl with the fireworks, the lightning, the huge explosion, and then the huge symbol lighting up in the middle of the field. Andy is a four letter word.

I also liked the way the stage was full of smoke at the beginning of the show with the flashing light pounding to the beat of the music. It almost looked like the gates of hell before the lights came on. And I love how Prince made his entrance by gradually rising at the top of the stage from a hidden elevator. GREAT choice Andy! I didn't think of that one, only tours. The OP didn't specify tours though.

Sign o the Times & 1999 (which was incorporated by some of PR)
those 2 sets felt really 'real' they felt like the music, like there was actually a place you could go and you'd see that I liked how the Time had that apartment complex backdrop

Never got to see the Endorphinmachine set-up, though. If you can track down the Gold tourbook it has a fold out of just the stage. I have it, but I don't have a scanner to post the pic. Anyone??? TRUE BLUE

Sign O'The Times was a awesome mess!!!!!Took a lot of nuggets to even use it as an album cover, but to use it as a stage as well was brilliant!

To me it's not so much what's on the stage but more the set up. Seeing him 'in the round' for Lovesexy and Musicology was the best by far. I've lost count of how many times I've seen him, but for an arena concert nothing is as intimate as his shows in the round...not to mention there isn't a bad seat in the house.
I saw him at Target Center (7/7/07) and from a floor seat I could barely see him, the band, or the stage- and the sound was just awful. Not a great experience to say the least. I had friends with me and couldn't even tell what songs he was playing, the acoustics and view were so bad.
