Prince's involvement on Modernaire I just managed to find out an Housequake.com list by Boris and i read

Well according to http://www.discogs.com/De...se/1445683 Prince played the Electric Guitar, Synthesizer and did the Backing Vocals(they are pretty easy to make out:)). I'm not quite sure if he helped write it, but it really does have that classic Prince/Minneapolis sound to it. Cool song, loved it the first time I heard it in Purple Rain. | |

It WAS released in 2005 on Dez' Retrospective compilation and several remixes were released as well in 2008. If your question is why it wasn't released back in 84-85, it's simply because Dez wasn't able to get a contract with a record company.
