There's a hilarious youtube video making fun of the trailer. Can't link it, though. Or rather I shouldn't...right? I don't wanna get in trouble for it.

I tried to give this movie a chance a long time ago. It kinda made my head tilt in the "confused puppy" way. But on the bright side, hearing Tevin C sing his cute little song brought back so many memories.

And it also made me realize I'm gettin' hella old.

there's a trailer on the recent DVD issue, I think, that is hilarious. when they're listing the cast, they mention "hot stellas" and they say Prince's name twice. it's as corny as the movie itself

Yo..that was fucked up and funny as heck when JJ took her panties off in the middle of the street and gave Princey a big ole "kiss off."

Translation: "It'd be a cold day in hell before you hit these skins again!"

Just think of it as a bunch of music videos that make up one large music video. Some of his best music is in it and it is kinda cheezy but I say it's worth checking out if you've been following him for as long as some of us have. I remember seeing it for the first time in a movie theatre here in the US and the friends I tricked into going with me hated it but I didn't. To me it was like a long music video experiement.

Princey looked so frail and small when Jesse and Monte dragged him into Morris' office. He looked like his arms were going to snap off or something. Or were they dragging him out? Can't remember.

It really is just a collection of music videos linked together by a weak storyline and occasional dialogue.If it had been promoted and marketed this way and released straight-to-video,I don't think it would have received all of this negative attention.

I really tried to enjoy this movie.

The movie is an embarassment. I can't believe he got Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to appear, and made such a mess.

I hate how Prince is always telling the audience how to react. Morris Day eats a hot pepper (one of the unfunniest moments in the movie) and we see close-ups of the Time members scrunching up their face and cringing; Morris insults Prince and we see Ingrid Chavez shaking her head in sadness; Prince cracks a joke and the audience reacts with hilarity; Jill Jones does something daring, and the crowd is in awe...It goes on and on.

It is possibly worse than UNDER THE CHERRY MOON. That's saying a lot.

Sometimes I think GB was just Prince having a laugh on WB's dime. It's like he said "If y'all aint got nothing to do this weekend....I'm making a movie!"

I think its proof of P's arrogance that he can do ANYTHING because he was a phenom in one thing.

He needs to stick to his art, and now he struggles in this period cause once again he tries to wear hats he aint suitable for.

Thats one of the best lines in the movie and they cut it out LOL.

Why cut it?

I quite like the cinematography actually. I like the look of it. Its like a time capsule to the late 80's. Shame "the kid" is even more of a self obsessed jerk in this movie then in "Purple rain". Miserable as well
