hmmm
I can't, but being the director of movies such as Dark Planet, Jazz and Street Knight, it would have been nothing else but another masterpiece

To those who HAVE seen it, as a fan of Prince, how was it? I know it wasn't well received by critics.

what exactly would you leave in? i mean, once you've cut out the dialogue, the terrible acting, all the badly lit scenes, the cheesy set, what are you left with? the entire thing whittled down to one, maybe two music videos? confuse

The plot is totally ignorable for me. Some of the performances are really really great though. It's something good to just let play in the background while you do something else.

I think it works for Prince purists and lets you remember where you were when it came out, if you were alive. It probably got so many bad reviews because of the great expectations of Prince fans. I never saw it in the theater but rented the video when it came out and bought the DVD but only when I found it for the RIGHT price.
I now present unto you an original person, one that is able to rationalize and make decisions that utilize intellectual significance. Yes, this person is on the endangered species list. - Patsheart April 2, 2009

Prince and his new power generation fight against the evil Morris Day and his hipster homies over the musical soul of a nightclub that looks like it's in an alley off of sesame street. The End.

I know I will get flamed for this.

But in the story there is a good msg about love vs evil.

And had it been promoted better, it probably would have a better rep.

Yes, he should have kept that Lambert chick as Director.

But when I was on the set, it really did seem like it was going to be a hit. There was a co director or director of photography who had an english accent. So should we blame the brits on this one? I am just kidding. But seriously there was a british fella doing a lot of directing with Prince.

At an early stage, the movie was gonna be directed by Albert Magnoli, who directed 'Purple Rain'.At the beginning of 1989,Prince hired him as his manager and the two began planning the film. They had some 'artistic disagreements',Prince fired him and decided to direct the film himself shrug Imagine how much better the film might have been if Magnoli had been allowed to direct it.

It would have probably still been far from perfect, but it might have made a bit more sense nod

No. Had Smoky as a pet, but he died when I was about 16 in 1984. Never want to go through reaction I had again. Man, kids should be prepared when they have pets.

Btw, I am so unimportant, I have plenty of time on my hands, lol.

Yep,that's basically the entire plot lol In many ways, this movie is similiar to 'Xanadu',the 1980 musical starring Olivia Newton John.No real plot, just a bunch of music videos/performances and some occasional dialogue.

I bet some Structuralists could put a link 'twixt "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Graffiti Bridge". My mum understood the reactions of the girl in the first film. Something to do with Spain and post civil war? Christopher Tracy. Chris Tracy. Chris T. Hmmmm. Only my humble opinion, I'm often wrong.

Graffiti Bridge=person who can link different people, nations, etc. over the troubled waters.

Why Graffiti? 'Cos so many people put their own opinions onto him/her, whether those opinions are right or not. Starsailor: "you don't even know me, so why lie about me?" So many think they know Prince, when I don't think they really do.

"And then you're gonna meet a little Spanish man, who'll offer you wine and Moet"

Lol. Why are scientists notoriously bad at English? I do think it is stuffy though. There's nothing wrong with spelling a word wrongly, one can still convey meaning. And some of the best writers are certainly not the best spellers.
