NPG played out? How about a new name for the band? I was thinking about this yesterday: how corny I always thought "New Power Generation" was as a band name and how he's had it for...well...for a generation by now. "Old Power Generation" is more like it at this point. I liked "The Revolution" for a name.
What would be a good new name for the band? Maybe something lifted from a more recent song, like "The Word" or something. Prince and the Word. I dunno. Any ideas? | |

Prince and The MPLSound? Or The (new) MPLSound. I like the sound of Prince and the Revolution too, who knows, maybe it'll catch on..... | |

New Power Generation was always a bad name. Sad, because The Revolution is a fantastic name for a band.
He could have done much better with Lotusflower Love 4 1 Another Emancipation even New Power Soul is a better band name My Legacy

The "Lovesexy Band" was never really named as such, and it was just fine. the only purpose the NPG name even serves any more is for branding and something to shout-out during his more hip-hop oriented tracks, a la "Darkchild" or whatever. and to refer to himself in the 3rd person without using his own name.
