I don't want to meet him ever. I'm sure he can't live up to my fantasy where we talk about my favorite songs and he agrees to write a 3rd verse for Anotherlover along with releasing all of my favorite outtakes from the vault, which gets him a Grammy nomination. Opening the vault catipults him back into popularity with the general public, inspiring him to make Under the Cherry Moon - the Reincarnation of Christopher Tracy. It does surprisingly well at the box office, even though it is done in black and white, gaining him an Oscar nomination.
Coincidentally he wins both the Oscar and the Grammy and thanks me in his acceptance speeches.....sigh! ---Oh wait! I think this makes me a fan(atic)! ....Nevermind

I used to hang out at Glam Slam in Minneapolis and Prince always had 2 tables that were reserved on the 2nd floor VIP. It was hilarious to watch people try and approach his table and get shut down by the security guys standing in front of either table. Some even had the nerve to pull out a camera. Needless to say no photographs were taken. In passing he was always friendly and would smile and say hi, same at the parties at Paisley Park. It was the people that tried to get in his face and talk that he had a problem with. TRUE BLUE

I have this friend who wonders if Prince is a down-to-earth good person who's friendly to people he meets. Now, I've never met Prince, but the stories I've heard are not the greatest. But for I and my friend's benefit... Has anyone ever met Prince...and had a favorable account to tell of him as a down-to-earth, good person? [Edited 4/11/10 22:03pm] he is a good person, on the edge of down to earth. He's been over to the house and I've been to church with him and he is a lovely person to be around. He is completely introverted, like we would expect, but, oddly as a 16 yr old girl, I am the same way so it's easy to get along with somebody that you can relate to no matter who it is. What is your main problem?
To whom it may concern: I love you! Humankind..be both.

incognito said: Yes! Met him; been in videos, and watched him when he didn't know I was watching. He's really laid back around people he knows, not strangers, because you never know what a stranger wants from you. He likes to tell jokes (he did at the video shoots) and he is a workaholic/perfectionist. If things aren't going right during a gig, he will become angry because he wants to give his fans the best performance to remember.
People behind the scenes get to see the real Prince. People in front of the stage get to see the musician. I was in a Prince video also. Watched and observed him. But that doesn't count as meeting him will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I saw Prince in Greggs, in Manchester last year.
He was moaning that his sausage roll was too hot and they shouldnt sell them straight from the oven as it would take at least an hour to cool down and he was hungry now. This shit always pisses me off too, so i stepped in to offer some help, to cut a long story short Me, Prince and Maceo Parker got thrown out and we ended up getting a ginsters pasty from the Spar next door. Prince appologised for getting me thrown out and bought me a guiness in Witherspoons. True Story 3121

I'm glad we're cool now. And yes, you are one intelligent person. I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you pointed it out before I offended anyone. Thanks again. Why, thank you....you're too kind Likewise thanks AndyF for the props. I just find if we consider things properly and talk to each other about them, then we get to the heart and truth of the matter. I love Sherry all the more for engaging with me as she did ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Exactly! Some people are introverted, some are more extroverted. Nothing wrong with either, both to be respected. SherryJackson's been really great with Mindflux--her acknowledgement of Mindflux's points serve as a lesson to us all in class and style. Wish this would happen more often--with me and all of us.
Andy Fiol[/quote] Thank you Andy. *blushes* That's very kind of you. And Mindflux, I love you too, brother. You're right, both of you. If we sit and listen to each other with a little understanding, there's nothing in this world we can't work out.

This kind of love happens so rarely on the org! Way to set the bar, guys!
Funny I was reading a link to a thread from 2002 and it is absolutely amazing comparing the tone of the orgers then to how it is now. We've turned into an overall bitter and mean-spirited bunch of whiners! Thanks for setting a great example to us all, Sherry and Mindflux!

I'm sure it's hilarious it's a long story. i'm not sure i remember all the details anyway but it was at a soundcheck during the ona tour and some woman got to the stage and presented prince with a sand dollar. prince broke it the shitstorm that ensued from that was one of the most surreal moments in prince online history. long story short: lives were ruined because prince (accidentally?) broke the gift. lol. i think there was actually a thread called "prince ruined my life and destroyed my gift". something like that. madness, i tell you, madness a sandollar you mean that little sea creature thing that hides in the sand??

Try reading all the post before you jump to conclusions. Laura I already know that. But just because he was on tour with Rick James doesn't mean he had had to be perpetually in a state of a grimace for 24 hours straight. Im well aware of Prince being super nicety to people but that comment that he wasn't nice because he was on tour with Rick James who was "mean to him" does not cut it...making it appear that he was supposed to have a permanent scowl to everybody he meets and interacts with. Come on now. He is human as you like to put out there so much.

i met him,at 3121,he is sweet, and so well put toghter,he would always stare at me,i didnt no what to think.i was a little scared, people at the club would walk up to me and ask if i was his girlfriend,my friend would always laugh when someone would ask this(a few times almost spitting her drink out of her mouth)i found that question to be strange.funny part is they had a vip section at the club,i i guess have some guts though cause a few times i would go past the ropes and go sit in the vip section ,i was the only club goer who got past the rope ,no one told me to leave not even the body guards .prince sat a few tables down,i didnt cause problems, just sat there watching the band.all i can say was meeting him was the most amazing thing that happened to me.very swweet, gentleman.if u treat him with respect he will treat u that way.

What was it Amir '?uestlove' from The Roots said?
'..I was expecting the 'grasshopper' voice that he uses at award shows, but he was just regular, like you and me...except he's Prince...' lol. It'd be cool just to give him a pound and say 'thanks, bruh' I did unexpectedly run into Mayte --on the other side of a velvet rope but sans bodyguard--during a Love 4 One Another show. She said hi and I will never forget that smile...(oh lawwwd...) ********************************************
