I saw a BBC documentary on Detroit recently. Damn shame what's happened to the Motor City, i have no connection there barring my love for the Motown sound, but it saddened me greatly.

Detroit used to love Prince and i think he felt the same.

Support Detroit Prince, somebody got to. might as well be you. smile

He should record a new album in a completely unknown city. Middle of Russia somewhere. Lonely island in Greece where he doesn't speak the language, doesn't have his normal luxuries and is totally unaffected by what's going on around him. Somewhere where he can throw off his own conditioning.

I do not know what CITY? But I have an Idea for a state!

I want Prince to record in the state of reality! not in Prince land where every song is better than Purple Rain.

Why does it have to be a city?
If you want him to do something he's never done before, he should drop the high heels and fancy clothes, get in some Caterpillar boots and get sloppy on a hog farm or something. Get some dirt under his nails, do some WORK, its good for the soul. Maybe convert a tool shed or barn into a recording studio.

To hell with catching some City's VIBE, thats the mark of a musical follower. I prefer the Prince that only listened to his own voice. He's a musical genius, the best stuff comes OUT, not just reflects what was put in. I want him to want to hear something that has NEVER been done before. Experimentation brought about the coolest stuff.

It's the nation's capital and we got gogo music here. lol Seriously, ole boy may benefit from being in a place where there's no plastic distraction, but enough of an artistic pulse to revive him.

Also, there's lotsa cute redboned girls at Howard University. lol

Okay hes left lala land and now back in MPLS his ole digs. What city do you recommend say he live in the next 6 months to a year. I will throw my ticket in the hat that he return back where it started in the SF Bay Area when he recorded his first album. For sure he has quite a few friends that have there roots there and might be a good creative outlet for him. Not to mention a vibrant music scene and diverse cultures. Cast your vote and tell me why. Pick any city in the world. Achtung Baby!!!

Well the weather is nice in SF, and the people are cool.
But i have always thought it would be cool to have a live recording in a nice little intimate out of the way place like New York's Carnegie Hall

Throw in a little 40 person gospel choir, maybe string orchestra, all while wailing an electric guitar one second, a nice quiet acoustic guitar or piano section and we have lift off.
A well produced show like that would be a super hot ticket i think.
Tourist and locals alike would eat it up. It would certainly not go unnoticed in a city like the Big Apple
