He played on Sexual Suicide right? Not so long ago I acquired a Prince drum solo track that was live from the early nineties I think. Labelled something like BlackMF, maybe it's doing the rounds and someone can tell me when it's from. Anyway, it's very funky, with lots of kick drum action going on, but there are errors and overall it feels a little show-offish, like he's trying too hard in places. He doesn't sound like the sort of guy u would want drumming for your band for the whole set. Not like a ?uestlove of someone really tight, a groove drummer. Prince would be great to have on the skins if u were having an spontaneous allstar sweaty funk jam in a club after a show. He has a lot of fun I think. No Sheila E. played on "sexual suicide" . | |

"Prince is one of the greatest drummers I have ever worked with." This is no joke. Miles did say that. I think I saw it on one of the British station specials on Prince. And if the's one of the best for Miles, he's one of the best period. -phunk Whatever it is, it´s got to be PHUNKy!!! | |

Even before Miles threw that out there onto the table it was always obvious to me that Prince is way above average as a drummer. All this stuff about who he's greater than or not greater than is neither here nor there, really. It's about having your own discernable, creative voice on an instrument, and he has that. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |
