I like when laura goes off though. I agree that P wasn't gettin paid off that website due to not enough people joining but it's a double edge sword. You can't get paid if you're not giving anything worth buying.  Word of mouth goes a long way. | |

Word of mouth goes a long way.I can well believe that he thought it would sell itself based off his intial burst of hype for it, and when it didn't (because this isn't how things work), he went cold on it. Which is pretty much what the website developer said in his recent interview. And this is completely par for the course with Prince, initial excitement, followed by total lock-out and feigned ignorance. It reminds me of so many other projects, disappointing, but expected, which is why I never signed up. CDs in store, or on sale now - you got my money, every time. Vague 'promises' of big things to come?.. Keep it, my wallet stays in my pocket. | |

Some people on this board don't know how to deal with disagreement and take things much to personal. It is not that deep and if it is you need to really think about why. As far as P not putting up anything worth buying even if he had that does not mean he would have an enough members to make it worth his while. We are in a recession it is a terrible time to start up a business and I wonder if he hired anyone to come up with a business plan that would have stipulated how many members would be needed to make it profitable. My guess is he did not do any real analysis concerning the profitability of the website was worried content would be stolen, which apparently did happen and therefore was leery about putting anything good up on the site until he saw some financial return which never occurred. | |

Why can't you just honestly say that Prince is a bad businessman ? If your excuse for him is that he started yet another internet venture without a decent business plan, then that's what it comes down to. You make it sound acceptable that when a seller discovers he can't make enough profit on his goods, he should simply stop delivering them to the customers that bought them ! It's not only unacceptable, it's even unlawful... But then again, maybe Prince thinks the law doesn't apply to him ? | |
