Prince song that makes u happy every time u hear it There are a few for me. It is one of the millions of things that I love about Prince's work. He has some songs that just sound like sunshine - you have to sing along or at least smile each time you hear them.
When U Love Somebody (overlooked - like the album it comes from. U can hear the joy in it) Trust (fun cartoon of a song - that album made Batman that much better) White Mansion (great on a Sunday afternoon in the springtime) Sex In The Summer (sounds like summer and ironically constructed with a sample from what may have been one of his saddest chapters) In A Large Room With No Light (a masterpeice as released last year at Montreux) 1999 (iconic and pure genius - a party song about the end of the world. Who else but Prince?) 4ever (bright, angelic sounding chorus - you have to sing it) Lets Go Crazy (also iconic - straight simple pop metal suitable for all ages) Mountains (the movie visual might help this one because it takes me back to the Riviera with satin drawers on - in black and white, of course) Raspberry Beret (if u aint feeling this 1, u r dead) La La La, He He He (doesnt the title say it all?) There are plenty more but I am getting tired...what say u? | |

Forever In My life.
I always got that. Lyrically, so important and serious but such a casual opening "La da da da dah" well that kind of implies he's not entirely serious. It does not outstay it welcome either. Really this innofensive, underrated song is pure Prince genius. |
