But alas, Prince controls many fans and fams with his music, so every time something bad happens he comes up with something new, throws out some bait and all the fishies come biting again.

He knows this and takes advantage of it. And that may be expected from a businessman.

ok if i were to guess the way prince sees it is u all get free boots off the net all the time no matter what he does and when he releases something the bootleggers dont get to you say it sucks ... purple and gold and cause and effect for example ... and he is very vengeful .. its fair to say that between his 'slave' campaign and pioneering the web based music or at least lending his high profile to a record company destroying technology, prince probably had a big hand in wb demise as well as when he got mad and would not tour the u.s. for like 10 years ... hes got no problem telling people to fuck off .. so im not sure what the lotus thing is about .. i didnt join mostly cuz npg music club petered out and i wasnt thrilled about any of the new music. if he can give us one 10 song record per year that just kicks our asses the way he can when he wants to i am happy .. i dont care about the history and i've said before i'd gladly give prince more of my money if i had it just cuz i've gotten so much of his music for free and i am really happy with it .. so its not about the money .. but yeah i wouldnt be surprised if he makes us all wait another year even for a record ...

I don`t want to turn my back because of tax problems or him being broke ( damn I`m almost broke myself).But I think the way he relates to his fans is shameful.

when he just decide to release a DVD like Montreux 2009/
21nights in London 2007/ Musicology tour 2004 etc.
All that stuff was filmed and would be ready for a release.
Or just think of all the unreleased music he has.
And he still is one of the greatest live performers,
so playing some concerts will help also and i am sure
there are still a lot of people out there that would

I've given reasons on 3 other threads for why tax payments and court orders might be being paid late, I'm not going in to them again.

And the reason Prince stuff is back on YouTube is because Prince along with all other artists that are members of ASCAP or PRS are now, rightly, being PAID for their work being used on there. So, its not becuase he can't afford to sue them, its because he is now earning royalties from it, which was his issue in the first place.

I realise everyone has thier own point of view. The site was fun whilst it lasted - nothing really great happened but it was good that it was out there. For me losing $77 - well its gone its gone. $77 in the great scheme of things its not that much more than a concert t shirt and I got that - never expected that much - I know how fickle he can be. I aint gonna lose sleep over it and will continue to give my support to P whenever and whatever he does - now you might take that to mean I luuuuurrrrrvveee everything he does - I don't but I take it with a pinch of salt - thats life.

So don't hate me cos i is beautiful - loved and blessed

personally I dont see where Prince went wrong, he put the site up clearly to help promote the album and those who were able to capitalize on the great seat offers through the site are happy. Those who werent got music, photos and videos you didnt see anywhere else. The album cycle is over now the site is down. In my opinion he did everyone a favor by taking it down and not leaving it up getting folks more riled up by waiting for nothing as far as updates leaving more room for complaints. The life span of most fanclubs is 1 yr.

you should only be upset if you were one of the founding members and didnt get a t-shirt, but chances are you probably werent amongst the "founding members" if you didnt get one by now. If you were promised one at check out thats a different story

some fans ask for too much, if this on-going Prince cycle is new to you, start looking forward to whats next, its not the end of the world. if you love and support him, you love and support him no matter what. It just a web site and if you arent used to it by now, you'll learn a new lesson in patience

Prince doesnt owe anyone anything (except the IRS lol) but seriously when you purchase music and go to tours and support an artist, thats your choice so dont get upset when you are disappointed when you want more than what you've paid for

All this crap that's happening is part of the experience being a fan. I take none of it personally. He hasn't sued me or DEMANDED I remove a video from you-tube or asked me to take down a site run with his likeness on it. I do not understand why 9 out of perhaps 10 people take it so personally.

I was hit with the $77 renewal and what? I'm supposed to be pissed? Well, I'm not. I would have liked a letter perhaps a week before the fee was withdrawn from my account but, if I'm not mistaken I am supposed to get it back and deposited in my account (or my wife's account).

I have the $ and I can afford it.

That's why I work.

I sympathize with the fans who were hit with it and it caused them slight financial problems. I say, let's move on and move forward.
