I pop into the Opus store now and again as it's very near to where I live, to see if the book is there yet. I was in there 2 weeks ago i asked when will the book be in the store, they said they did'nt know, that it has been delayed and to check the website for details. there was no news on there when I last looked about 5 days ago, I also sent them an email and got no reply.

Shiny Gold Poo Stick is actually the new Prince penned fight song for the St Paul's over 50's bowling team. Fact.

Very odd indeed looks like it might have been pulled due to lack of interest I think shame though - let us know if you hear anything about when it might arrive thanks

Have people actually paid for this and still waiting for a book? I hope that's not what happened. There appears to be a way of paying for it on the kraken link...yet the book and contents have been shelved?! Tell me your kidding.

Apparently the 3D isn't too hot, it's of the post production type and not true 3D. Still, it's got pegasus and medusa and a load of other fun shit from the original, so I'm there. Watched the original on Blu-ray at weekend brilliantly, amazingly, wonderfully crap. but i love it so....

Yeah, 3D seems to be part of every new computer animated movie now. Just another way for the film industry to get $2 more out of your wallet. I am sorry that I didn't see Avatar in the theater. That was supposed to be the good 3D.

Avatar was very good in 3D and goes to show the difference between making something for 3D from the ground up and doing it in post production. Alice In Wonderland was another recent high profile 3D release that was been done in 2D and converted.
RIP sad

I've seen a lot of 2D to 3D movies lately (all of them aimed at kids - I have a 7-year old daughter), and there is almost no benefit to them. The effect is very minimal and you just end up feeling ripped off.

I saw a demo of Samsung's new 3D TV at Best Buy a few weeks ago and it was cool, but after so many people had to upgrade their TVs recently and laid down huge chunks of cash, I can see these sets being a miserable failure. Not to mention the fact that Blu-ray isn't exactly taking the world by storm due to high software price points, the 3D Blu-ray discs will probably die off pretty quickly.

Avatar 3d: fantastic (shot in true 3d), Pixar's Up: fantastic (rendered in true 3d), Alice In Wonderland (crap 3d) post converted. Yeah shame to miss Avatar, prob still showing in IMAX. The 3d tvs are great, too expensive though. PS3 is going to have a plug in to play the 3D blu-rays so that might help getting it established. You have to plug the glasses in to charge though, they are electronic shutter glasses, not like the movie theatre ones. that sounds like way too much effort. Cut to christmas next year where I will be begging for one...

it costs approx 100k per minute to convert 2D to 3D. so the average movie costs in the region of 30million extra...

I did see UP in 3D and it was great. I've heard that Avatar may see another release in theaters with extended scenes later this year. So there is hope.

I have a PS3, but I can't pop for a 3D TV. My 50" Plasma cost enough. That Samsung I saw at Best Buy had an on-board converter that made anything you wanted to watch in simulated 3D a push of a button away. There was a big difference between actual 3D content and the converted stuff, but it was a nice feature that not all 3D TVs will have. The glasses are really cumbersome, though.

I didn't know it cost that much to convert 2D to 3D. eek Apparently they're able to justify the cost since everything is getting converted now.
