POWER FANTASTIC LYRICS by PRINCE:

Late at night, when the world is sleeping

U r frightened, 'cause the Power's creeping

In your room is something u're afraid of

Life or doom is what this feelings made of Power Fantastic

Is in your life at last

U're a little apprehensive

'Cause what it is is what u want and need Minor G is the chord of pleasure

It will be played eleven measures

U will see fire, but u're cool as ice

U lie if u say this isn't nice.

Power Fantastic

Is in your life at last

U're a little apprehensive

What it is is what u want and need Power, Power

Power Fantastic

Is in your life at last

U're a wee bit apprehensive

'Cause what it is is what u want and need Power, Power,

Power Fantastic

always thought this song was in search of an album. it's nice that it
was finally released on the bsides box set but it should have been on
an album. damn that track is good. one of his all time best imo.

When I first heard this one, I couldn't stop listening to it. Listened over and over. the emotions in the music. This is a full Revolution band take. the music originated from a song by Lisa Coleman:Carousel

I loved reading the reaction by the band and Susan Rogers after this one.
DREAM FACTORY era would have be FANTASTIC!!

And finding the intro to put right before it just adds another nice touch
Prince did vocals and the Revolution + Eric Leeds & Atlanta Bliss

Eric Leed added that flute, and Atlanta on trumpet

those 2 instruments especially the trumpet for me does it over the top

It interesting cuz I love Prince's vocals of course, but what really made me love this song years ago was the music. I have always loved Eric Leeds-true musician wink Everything he has done with Prince was great.

I noticed that the lyrics to Shocadelica is very similar to Power Fantasic

I began my life with this song hating it. There was nothing about it that I liked. Then, something happened and I don't know exactly what it was but I heard it as if for the first time and I wept. This is one of my all time favorite Prince songs. mushy

I love this song, great music. Is it true that Prince compared Atlanta Bliss to Miles Davis on this recording?

Love this track - this is the man at his best. Somehow fitting it never appearead on an album as it stands by itself so well.

I loved it soooo much, it was going to be my wedding song when I was engaged 6 years ago.
I never got married, tho. So listening to it now is bittersweet. sigh

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

It's the song I always play to people who think of Prince as a one-trick pony. And people do say it!

I know Eric Leeds said he had goosebumps when they recorded it, and I can see (hear) why.

Absolutely beautiful, in so many ways.
