Come on! The guy is totally out of touch with reality and damn unfocussed.
He can't come up with the right material for his owns albums (even ih he may have that material) and you want him to write for others... But, well thought, it'd be better that some of the cringing songs that plagued his lastest albums were given to some of those crappy plastic sounding modern r&b "stars". [Edited 3/25/10 19:40pm] | |

That's the main problem here. ANY unofficial site should be an open place where fans (not faMs) could discuss about their favourite musician; thus a spade should be called a spade and his less inspired efforts should be discussed as such. Prince's output from the latest years (and more so in recent times) is totally unfocussed and out of touch with reality, both lyrically and musically. He's spent so much time in his particular self-made cloud #9 that I think if he were able to get off his limo for a while and take a WALK through the streets of any city he wouldn't recognize the world. You can't put out a focused production when you don't know in which direction the Earth spins and if you don't even bother listening to the music other people may write. If you add to that the fact that he managed to take record companies and managers out of the picture and surrounded himself with a team of asslickers who don't dare tell him what he should be told because they might lose their job the final result will be albums like Musicology, 3121, Planet Earth or Lotus/Mpls. But, yes, it seems better to start threads to debate how beautiful Prince's big toe nail has to be. | |

I think it's a control issue.Back in the 80s and early 90s,he had no problem with giving songs to other artists.He seemingly didn't care what they and their record labels did with it.These days,he would want to own the master recording,the publishing rights,etc....he would want more 'control' over the song,and what happens to it. | |
