The Camille album. A lot of tracks ended up on other albums. But as a whole it was better than the black album which was over ratted.

I really, really enjoy Come and Lotusflow3r/MPLSound. I think the latter could use a little more loving, but that's just me. I hated the album(s) at first too, but they grew on me pretty quickly. And Come is just a roller coaster of music awesomeness.

Yeap those two plus NEWS and the Rainbow Children

Graffiti Bridge.

Although ever since hearing "I Like It There" at the Conga Room, Chaos & Disorder has gotten mad spins, lol.

Yep. I recently rediscovered this one. It's not a great album as such but it is full of great songs. I don't think it qualifies as great as it all sounded just a little bit late (not surprising as most of the songs were old ones), but there are so many good songs on there.

And I'll have to add TRC - best album since then

I never see much written about Diamonds and Pearls on the org and I play that alot, so that's underrated. And I agree with everone else, COME is much better than what the music critics said at the time it was released IMO.

What do you think Prince's best underrated album is and why? Honestly all his albums are underrated, with the exception of Purple Rain. But what's one that should of gotten airplay but didn't?

My personal choice is Emancipation. I think that album covered so many genres and nailed them all. Doing a 3 disc set is a risk and has more potential of people not liking more of your songs, but I really do love this album. Mr. Happy and Damned If I do were really the only ones that I didn't admire.

If Emancipation had been released by D'Angelo or any other newbye it would have been called the album of the century (which it was) lol

I'd say N.E.W.S. is much underrated, too.

This one's easy.

One Nite Alone - Piano and runner-up would be The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale.

I'd have to agree with Lotusflow3r. To me, it's a great album - sonically and thematically consistent, short and to the point, a great mix of commercial and experimental appeal, varying subject matter, and lots of rockin' guitars! It has that 'Princely' feel to it IMO. And although it was a #2 album in the US, it's almost unheard of to the rest of the world.

For me his most underrated album amongst fans is "Purple Rain".

Overall, his most underrated of all is probably "The Black Album".

From the publics point of view i'd have to say The Gold Experience

This was easily Prince's best work since lovesexy and its a shame it didnt last like all his 80's albums.

I know a lot of people here love it but no one else seems to like they love Purple Rain

Its such a shame

On the real, tho, many of his other albums that dropped in the '90s are underrated too.

Emancipation is a good choice, and I'm going to go with that as my answer also. It feels like his last really cohesive set. There's an over-reaching theme, as well as a theme for each disc. And only a few songs that I really don't care for. Good choice.

Chaos and Disorder, The Rainbow Children and Emancipation, though I can't believe that Emancipation is classed as an "unloved album"!!

And I'd fight any Grizzley in the ring over Grafetti Bridge.
