It's sad that this amazing performance will probably be scrubbed clean off the internet so Prince can maintain that wonderful track record of control. Instead of letting this performance speak for his legendary status, he'll erase any trace that it ever existed.

If Roberta Flack were on stage at the same time, I would totally come on myself.

Are you suggesting that every second of any good performance by Prince ought to be available? And, if so, is it to "speak of his legendary status"? Becuase, he already has the legendary status - that has been earned, properly and can't be taken away.

I suspect that, actually, its you who personally wants this stuff available for yourself and you're glossing some justification on it that its all for the greater good - i.e. "helping" Prince when, in fact, he doesn't need that help at all!

I don't understand how it seems to escape people that this controlling aspect of Prince (which some only hate because it is denying them their own selfish desires) is majorly responsible for him being able to produce the quality and quantity of work that he was able. Its a talent that helped him produce, but now people would rather he wasn't like that just because it affects them getting performance number 3008 on their hard drive

I'd love to link to it - it's amazing. But Prince is so damned litigious.

You know, Lady Gaga writes to her fan-sites and even namechecks them in interviews... And all the Gaga fan-sites host downloadable media. She's still making coin, because all her fans collect every release anyway. And she has fans because she turns a blind eye to all the kids with no pocket money file-sharing instead of paying.

Here's the way I look at it.

Prince is a douchebag. We all know this. But he's a douchbag with lots of money (which we gave him).


and he can sue ben's ass into oblivion over frivolous shit that ben would eventually win...but the trick for ben is making it to the finish-line without filing for bankruptcy....which he can't.

I don't give fuckall for Prince's plight...I paid enough of my hard earned cash for both brilliant and mediocre material to that man that I couldn't give two shits that he thinks his music is art and blah blah blah....


But, the org is a special place for me. And I love it. And I don't want it shut down.

Ergo, I won't post links nor any of the the other crap I'm not supposed to. Not out of fear of the afore mentioned douchebag, but for ben's sake.

It's an utter shame. The biggest fault in Prince's relationship with fans.

It says not to post a video. I didn't post a video. You had to go somewhere else to watch it.
