New Power Generation Radio broadcast - 88 or 89?

I really loved how that whole thing played out as a radio show in the late 80s, with Prince and his band acting as DJs. I would give anything to hear that again.
. . . I wonder if anyone knows what I am talking about???

Sorry for interrupting your monologue.

This was issued as a bootleg intially as a triple vinyl which later was ripped onto a double cd.

It's been circulating ever since.

i think this is wrong. There was a radio show when 'Get Wild' was out cause it was played. Obviously later.

^^^I can post the exact tracklist if you want but I guess your question aims at Prince songs. right?

The Prince songs played were: Sex, I love U in me, Heaven must b near (I.Chavez), Miss Thang and Bambi_Rap (T.C. Ellis).

The most important thing in that event (apart from being the precursor of the 2001 Ahdio Shows) is that a minute of Undercover Lover (Robin Power) was aired and that's the only bit of the song we could hear and was later included in massive outtake compilations. Cincy C was also played, which was interesting since The Black Album was still officially unreleased at the time (though all of us had the bootleg).

The rest were songs by the likes of Janet Jackson, Kate Bush, Soul II Soul, Talking Heads, Joni Mitchell, Bobby Brown, Miles Davis, INXS, Tracy Chapman...

Basically it was Prince in his deep voice (as Me, Myself & I) playing the radio host role in the company of Ingrid Chavez, Levi Seacer Jr (as Michael Anthony)and Robin Power.

vitriol said it above smile I have the vinyl - 3LPs in a slim box, it has the same cover as The Future CD single.

"December 9,1989-2 hour Radio show w/ Robin Power, Ingrid Chavez, Levi Searcer(Micheal Anthony), And Prince(Me, Myself and I) his voice is mechanically altered and is never ID'd as Prince. Some new material he was working on at the time was previewed, including "Undercover Lover","Heaven Must Be Near","Miss Thang", "Bambi (Rap version)", "Overnight, Every Night". "Cindy C." was also aired."

Found it from google, but it's verbatim from The Vault's entry about it.

The funny thing is that this was really the prototype of the 2001 NPG Ahdio Shows.

Nothing major on it, though: some talking by Prince (with Bog George voice), Ingrid, Robin & some other guy (Levi maybe), 2 or 3 nice intrumental segues (one i'm not even 100% sure is Prince), a demo version of TC Ellis' Miss Thang (very similar to the released version, just less overproduced), a short snippet of Robin Power's Undercover Lover, & I Love U In Me with a THREE seconds intro added to it (lol!).

The rest was all released late or was non-Prince music.

This one is from 1995 & much shorter (around 25 mn) and there's nothing (now) unreleased on it except for the "Bob George voice" segues.
