Love this album, but couldn't disagree more with the theology. I've always wondered who the "banished ones" are. My guess is they are non-JW's. Any thoughts?

Banished ones? I thought he was saying "vanished ones". This changes everything.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

There is also the theory that, aside from being about JWs and non, the story on TRC is an allegory about Prince and his battle with WB. Prince is the wise one, his woman (who was tempted by the deceiver) is Mayte. The five others who are banished with her are the major record labels.

Most of the ridiculous religious lyrics are contrary to my views, but musically this is a brilliant and underrated album. If he would have written out the sexist, fundamentalist and conservative dogma, this material would have been an earthy mix of incredible musical achievement.

Also, the tour was one of his best.

Maybe he's talking about people in the song as colours.

There are 7 colours in a rainbow. Maybe "she" and the other 5 added up to six colours of the rainbow disappearing. The only colour that remained was Indigo. ie. The Indigo children.
