After hearing Prince rock in the past couple of years with tracks such as Dreamer, crimson and clover/wild thing, and even his amazing cover of Creep... In conjunction with another topic from way back about why today's generation of females dont find him sexy...Ive wondered about something..

What if Prince droppped some(or a lot) of the make up. Changed his wardrobe to be more "manly" and focused more heavily on Rock n Roll...
Would it win him a new generation of fans?
In an age where bands such as Nickleback and Daughtry are making a huge impact on music and have millions of fans. Also solo artists like Keith Urban who could have been the next Garth Brooks (if he would have played his cards right) due to his appeal to country as well as pop/rock fans. Look at these guys. They have the same style. The rugged, rocker look.
Its been said he is just past his prime and is too old, but look at Bon Jovi. He is not too far behind Prince in age and has been around for a very long time. Yet the women still drool over this guy and he is still selling loads of albums. And yet again.. look at the guy. He to has the rugged rocker look.
So could Prince pull it off? Could he become the rocker guy and win over fans he would have never had as the feminine R&B Prince?
I think he could. Ill even say he could keep the high heel boots, just throw on some distressed boot cut jeans and tattered sleeveless shirt. Let the hair down, get a 5'oclock shadow and hit the stage and rock!
I know it will never happen, but I do think it would work for him.
I would be a lot better than seeing him end up like Little Richard.

And as far as suits. Yea he's been wearing suits a lot, as well satin blouses, tight ice skater style pants, his hair wavy and curled to the roof,and make up out the yin yang.
So Im just asking could he pull of the rocker look and music style and do you think it would win him more fans?

Nope wouldn't win more fans. R&B the rage culture today is not rocker style. It's sophisticated or close to naked. I think Prince's sophisticated style is perfect. He could dress down a little but not to a rocker, please. And bon jovi has women drooling over him? hmmm I'm not one of them and now of my friends do either.

I like Prince the way he is.I've enjoyed his music since "Little Red Corvette," even though i was 9 and had no idea what the lyrics in that song meant,til a few years later.His style makes him who he is.I wouldn't want him to be anybodyelse but himself.Prince is a talented entertainer.He's self taught himself most if not all instruments.Prince is gifted.I like him the way he is.I still buy his albums and download his songs-LEGALLY.

Its actually the opposite today. That feminine look is what the trendy ladies are loving today....See Russell Brand, Johnny Depp or todays mens style.

Also, Prince is STILL regarded as one of the sexiest and has women drooling still too....i thought that was obvious.

I don't really want Prince to look like "a rocker" - he looks incredibly fine the way he is. Besides, even though he looks really sexy in the suits he wears, I wish he'd go back more often to a more "creative" style of clothing. Suits are boring !!

If Glam Rock was still all the rage today, and rugged rockers wanted to gain more popularity, Wouldn't they look ridiculous?
